OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

1. Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self interest into the fairest and most productive economic system there is, and are the key to national prosperity.

15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Oppressive governments force their citizens to make life and death choices. When we sacrificed everything to form what became the United States of America, there was far too much at stake to allow this new country to devolve into unbridled political rule. Our nation’s founders placed individual rights above government power, giving us liberties and freedoms unmatched anywhere in the world if we adhere to the U.S. Constitution.

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

1. Jobs and the economy – This nation is experiencing the most feeble economic recovery in modern history. The tax code, the growing government welfare state, excessive regulation and chronic debt are stifling job growth. 2. Healthcare – Obamacare is not health reform; it is a political re-branding with the force of law to enable the rationing of healthcare to favored groups. Real reform helps everyone and would include addressing tort awards, enabling individuals to purchase insurance across state lines and ensures financial solvency of Medicare and Medicaid. 3. Re-establishing Constitutional Separation of Powers – My home state of Maryland has become a subsidiary of the federal government and the 10th amendment has been rendered meaningless in practice. Over the last several years, our top elected officials have volunteered Marylanders for every federal government program. The results – sloppy implementation, millions of dollars wasted and excessive taxes and regulation.

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

It should be allowed only in cases involving incest and rape and if the life of the mother is in jeopardy.

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God Voters Constitution Supreme Court - Congress (Equal) Media (freedom of the press)

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
