Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
While I don't like abortion, I think the best government policy is to keep the government and taxpayer money out of abortions. So, my belief is the federal government and taxpayer money should not be involved in abortions.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
By enacting the Financial Sanity Act, a bill I drafted that can be found on my campaign website. It gradually moves the normal retirement age for Social Security and the Medicare eligibility age to age 70, and then adjusts it every ten years based on changing life expectancy, so that everyone gets a constant percentage of life expectancy coverage (e.g. 20% of live expectancy). It also slightly modifies the cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) by slightly reducing it, in accordance with the tax laws' COLA. Obamacare/Medicaid exist (I think adjustments to Obamacare are needed, as noted on my website), and can supply coverage for those who do not work until age 70 (or Medicare eligibility age). It should be noted that the "trust fund" is a fallacy, as the notes are simply IOUs issued by the Treasury Department to the Social Security Administration. Note: I don't think you'll find another candidate who will even address the issue, let alone provide a bill designed to fix the problems.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Entitlements spending needs to be reasonably reduced. Eliminate the Department of Education, saving $71B/year. We need to keep the strongest military, by far, but we don't need 800+ foreign bases, when the rest of the world combined has approximately 60 foreign bases. Per the CBO, on average, federal workers make 17% more than their private sector counterparts. Their compensation needs to be frozen until is 90% of private sector pay, saving $30B/y. We should cut discretionary spending by

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
In event of death or legitimate disability. Some things can be done to help those with existing debt, including allowing tax-free payments of debts by employers up to a limit (e.g. $10,000 per year). Going forward, like health care, the existence of a third party in the equation causes college to cost more than it would absent huge federal involvement. Federal loans and grants need to be decreased. On my website are articles that address the issues.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Keep them as independent and separate as possible. The federal government does not tax churches. It should not tax them. The government should not attempt to change or coerce any true religion. I think the three largest religions in the U.S. (Christianity, Judaism and Islam) do not preach violence or harm to others, and thus are true religions. (I realize there may be some failures in these systems/phonies, and I realize that more than three religions are practiced in the United States.)

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
By reducing the impact of the third party in the health care equation, thus creating competition and incentive for individuals to control costs. All should be eligible for coverage, and there should be no discrimination based on pre-existing conditions except conditions brought on by the individual (e.g. smoking). I recommend modifying high deductible health plans and only allowing tax subsidies for high deductible coverage and health savings accounts (HSAs) contributions, while creating incentives for states to increase competition (such as by reducing Medicaid funding to states that maintain certificate of need (CON) laws). Aside from changing the Medicare eligibility age (discussed below), I recommend slight modification to Medicare benefits to achieve competition and incentive for individuals to control costs.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Continue what we generally have been doing, but not make mistakes like the war in Iraq, that resulted in the deaths of a lot of innocent people, made our terrorism problems worse, and cost a lot of money. Leaving jet fighters in Saudi Arabia after the Gulf War was a mistake. And, we should plan to exit the Middle East. In this regard, we are now energy independent and Israel is doing fine. (Yes, it is enemies with Iran, but so are most of the countries in the Middle East.)

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
The immigration laws need to be enforced. We have a logical system, except it has not been brought up to date for decades. The numbers need to be "indexed" for world inflation, so that we annually let a reasonable number of additional people in, including those who don't have a great skill set. Foreigners who come to our country and excel in school and wish to stay should be granted visas that can potentially lead to citizenship. Innocent children brought to the U.S. by their parents should be eligible for visas that can potentially lead to citizenship. Chain migration needs to be reasonably reduced. Details are set forth on my website.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe I am a Christian, although I don't necessarily believe in everything in the Bible. Also, I do not know the exact relationship of Jesus to God. Some would say that means I'm not a Christian, because they say Jesus is God. I believe in maximization of separation of church and state, provided that no religion that teaches violence or hate should be considered to be a "church" or a religion (and thus is not deserving of separation).

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I'm financially conservative, but socially tolerant. I believe our nation's greatest long-term problems are the national debt and health care costs. And, I believe I'm the only candidate in my race who will act to address these huge problems. (Being an independent candidate, unlike the major party candidates, I'll be able to act to do something about them.) On my website, unlike all my opponents, I propose solutions to all the major problems. They involve sacrifice. Few want to hear that, but it's true. Isn't stewardship a biblical trait? Socially, I wish for people to do whatever they wish, as long as they aren't harming others. As much as possible, people should be able to make their own decisions, and deal with the consequences. Often, fine lines exist.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
In 2007, when total federal debt was under $9 trillion, the GAO said it foresaw our nation's debts spiraling out of control. Now, total debt is roughly $27 trillion. We haven't balanced a budget since 2001. If the debts spiral out of control, NO OTHER ISSUES WILL MATTER. Recently, U.S. pandemics expert Peter Daszak said regarding COVID-19: "I'm not holding in my bunker right now. We're going to be hit by a much bigger one sometime in the next 10 years." Also recently, the CBO said it anticipates it will take 10 years for the economy to recover. After the Great Recession (which did not harm the economy as much as COVID-19), huge deficits were run, with the rationale being they helped the economy. If huge deficits are run after COVID-19 passes (as can be anticipated by Republicans and Democrats), and Daszak's prediction turns our to be correct, our system will financially collapse. Historically, collapsed democracies and republics are followed by dictatorships. I don't want to go there.

2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Please see my campaign website. The Second Amendment needs to be upheld. However, it needs to be amended in reasonable ways, such as providing a court of law with the ability to suspend rights during a domestic dispute. The Brady Bill does a number of logical things, and some illogical things. However, I believe it is unconstitutional, in that I believe it (unconstitutionally) overrides the Second Amendment.

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Tax legislation that creates a much simpler system, and that produces balanced budgets and even small surpluses each year the U.S. is not experiencing a recession or worse. A Tax Notes article I wrote/had published in 2017 covers all sorts of options for a better tax system. At the end, I propose a better system. It is summarized on my website. Health care legislation such as that specified above, to reduce the impact of the third party (be it an insurer, employer or governmental entity) while not breaking anyone in the process, and producing competition that will bring down costs while maintaining a market-based system. Reform for all entitlements, including Medicare and Social Security, and reforms to eliminate "the ditch" (whereby lower income households have a higher standard of living than many middle income households due to entitlements and tax benefits received, that are either not received or received to a lesser degree by middle income households). See website.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Yes. There are certain things the government can do to help the situation. What happened to George Floyd should not have happened. The system failed in the Arberry matter. These are problems that can and should be addressed. Peaceful protests are American. Looting and destruction of property are crimes that should be shut down by the police. I believe much of the protesting is financially driven. I think some protesters are Marxists, etc. The current entitlements and tax systems encourage single parenthood; they need to be changed so married parenthood is encouraged (and single parenthood is discouraged). Some inner cities are akin to war zones at night. The police need to be given the benefit of the doubt.
