What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The purpose of those civil safeguards is to protect us from ourselves. I'm afraid they realized what we know too, humans are susceptible to the lure of greed and power. Those checks and balances allow our better nature to come through.
Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
Voters, Constitution, Supreme Court, Industry I can not put God in a list, it does not work that way for me.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
On abortion, I have had the "talk" as it were with the man upstairs and I cannot lie, since I've admitted it to him in my heart, about being personally and religiously opposed to abortion. However, as a legislator representing the entire district, I cannot (in the vein of give unto Caesar) agree to ban it unless it was by referendum of the people's will. I know you wish I could say ban altogether, and my political people do also, but I stay out of trouble by being who I am and maintain absolute honesty, even when it's electorally unwise - that's how those politicians end up losing their souls and love of service in my opinion. I am completely opposed to late term abortion, using it as lazy birth control, or with lack of parental notification for juveniles or for failure to provide counseling prior to service. Hell if a trump sign in a college warrants grief counseling(!) then they had better provide it for people making the ultimate decision.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Catholic and I believe that Jesus Christ is our Savior. When meeting with members of other faiths, I simply ask them one question, do they believe that one should do unto others as they would want done unto themselves?
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I have always been registered as a Republican and I vote in every General Election (except 2006) for Republican candidates. I have received two Awards as Businessman of the Year from the National Republican Congressional Committee as well as an Honorary Chairmanship of the Business Advisory Council and a Congressional Medial of Distinction. I have organized a Pro War Rally’s as a College Republican to support our troops in the first Gulf War and have steadfastly defended our Republican Presidents and causes in my personal and professional life.
