Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

As Washington State Commerce and Economic Development Department Director under former Republican Governor John Spellman, I worked for four years to attract new businesses to Washington State helping bring thousands of new jobs to our state. Therefore, my public record is well established as an appointed state official in promoting a favorable state business climate in which free enterprise can prosper. As an elected Fire Commissioner I continue to work to maximize efficient, cost-effective local emergency services delivery that must occur within consistently balanced annual budget. I am public safety oriented serving on the Board with local law enforcement to provide a countywide, reliable emergency radio communications system in Snohomish County.

Additional comment from candidate:

I am running against the four term, incumbent who is a former Democrat Congressman and legislator. This is my first campaign for statewide office. I am a 2-term locally elected Fire Commissioner. As your new state Insurance Commissioner, I will bring reform to the scandal-plagued Office of the State Insurance Commissioner. Another four years added to the 16 years of the misdirected policies at the current State Insurance Commissioners Office will likely lead to continuing escalating insurance prices - as Olympia insurance regulators continue to look the other way. As Commissioner, I will work to keep insurance premiums at least under the annual inflation rate. Next year insurance rates are proposed to go up another 13 percent on average. Insurance consumers need to change who runs the state Insurance Commissioner's Office in order to provide more insurance company competition for your insurance business - instead of watching insurance companies continue to leave the state.
