What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The founding fathers were afraid that the nature of mankind would hord power and they were fearful of one group taking the power, so the power was separated between national and state powers. Therefore three branches of government were created: Executive, Judicical, legislative, then legislative between the house and the senate again sub dividing the power.

Additional comment from candidate:
First, my faith in Christ keeps me humble. Jesus came not to be served, but to serve. His death to pay the penalty for sin that we deserve to pay is the ultimate act of service. In response to that, how could I do any less but offer my own life in service to others? Humility means that I will listen—truly listen—and be eager to learn, knowing I don’t have all the answers. The job of state representative is not about advancing my own power or prestige, but about service to my fellow citizens and making decisions that will best serve them. Second, because I believe that every single human being is created by God and made in his image, I believe every life matters. No constituent is more important than another. I will treat every constituent and colleague with the respect they deserve as my fellow image-bearers. Third, the decisions I make about policies I support and promote will be based on my biblical worldview, which I will use to protect the Constitution.
