Additional comment from candidate:

For many years, I worked to build Equal Rights Washington, our state's LGBTQ advocacy organization. I watched Joseph Backholm, FPIW Director, try to work against my interests and those Washingtonians I fought hard to protect. Now I see him trying to do it again - this time with my trans brothers and sisters. Rest assured, Mr. Backholm, we will never back down and we will never retreat when it comes to our rights. We will fight you until it's settled, and we will win. History is no longer on the side of bigots like you.
