Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

While I believe that life begins at conception, my opinion is not the only valuable one. If states want to limit abortions to certain time frames, I believe they should take into account the accepted definition of what constitutes a human life. This is a complicated issue that needs to be debated more openly, civilly, and with respect. I am of the belief that abortion should be allowed in cases of rape, incest, and when the mother's life is in danger. After that, I believe it is up to the states/people to define what their view is of when life officially begins.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe my private faith has informed my morals, values, work ethic, and more, but I don't believe that is important for the office I am running for. I share the Christian values of many Americans, but respect the faith and beliefs of the many beautiful cultures that make up the American melting pot.

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I am a libertarian, so I don't think I fall anywhere on that spectrum. I believe in limited government, classical liberal economics, and in expanding freedom for all citizens.

Additional comment from candidate:

Many of the questions in this questionnaire were hard to answer because they are truly complex questions that have multiple layers. I generally believe that freedom is maximized when people have more choice and government is minimized. Government has far too often passed bad regulations and then claimed to be the savior when they create more bad regulation to try and fix the problem they created in the first place. I would craft policy with economic theory, human nature, and incentive structures in mind - rather than simply good intentions.
