The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

The issue is that the woman is going to choose whether or not she is governed. I would that all women would choose to bring their children into the world, but as the reality is that she will go elsewhere and do as she pleases anyway, I let the gridlock go and focus my attention on solutions. I put my energy into social change that will create a world in which she isn't scared of having the baby in the first place. Where the father has a chance to make it so he didn't run as soon as the baby was born. I support social justice because I want the women of our world to Choose Life. I am pro choose life, and I am in the business of creating a world where the young mothers and fathers in our midst aren't scared shitless of having a baby.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Greed and the lust for power, and the reality that history tends to repeat itself.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a christian that has studied all paths. I have a personal relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. I also practice yoga and meditation and pray multiple times daily in the way I was taught. I am a sundancer of the Lakota Tribe and believe these paths to be in alignment. I believe Jesus died for our sins and rose again, and that for me I cannot come to god by him. I also believe that for those outside the faith, I am not to judge them nor their beliefs. I stick to the Red Letters, and leave for the rest to deal with man's interpretation of the story of the Messiah.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Moderate

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I can only say that my circle of friends in life includes all the spectrum. I have a healthy relationship with many republicans, I am running as a green, I am now backing the indepenent, Mike Coverdale. I think like a libertarian and have all of my most interesting dialogues with that crowd. I also self-identified as a libertarian for most of my life (my step father is and was a staunch libertarian) and still hold the core values of that system at the heart of my belief. I work with the democrats for proactive positive social change on issues like abortion and common sense gun control from the angle that the people must be allowed to bear arms, but the psycho's really shouldn't, and that the women are going to choose regardless, so let's give them options and alternatives such as adoption and surrogacy. I choose not to waste my time and energy on gridlock and go straight to the potential solution, no matter what that may be.

Additional comment from candidate:

I am choosing to back Independent Mike Coverdale, because although we disagree on some issues, our similarities win the day. He (unlike the incumbent Derek Kilmer) is opposed to the TPP and wants the people to have a voice. He listens to the people. He is all for freedom and understands why the people value it so highly. While new to politics, he is open to dialogue between the parties, with me as a green and my most passionate libertarian friends right in his ear all the time. He is the most logical choice of all six candidates and is the only candidate that is both electable and will stand up for the people against the monstrosity that is the TPP. If you value you job and your environment, Mike is the choice. Set aside the fact that we disagree on many things in this survey. Mike has seen a different path than me, we see eye to eye on the stuff that matters.
