What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The founders, after years of living under the oppression of the crown, recognized the corrupting influence that absolute power can have. They also recognized that man was endowed by our creator with inalienable rights including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In an attempt to make "a more perfect union" our founders divided powers and instituted a system of checks and balances to safeguard the people of our young nation from the tyranny that they were trying to escape.

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
During the eight years that I served in the Florida House, I earned a reputation for protecting the unborn, defending the second amendment, and championing free enterprise. I received the Defender of Liberty Award from the American Conservative Union in 2012 and 2013; the Faith and Family Award from the Christian Coalition of Florida in 2008; an A rating from the NRA every year I was in office; and an A rating from the Florida Chamber of Commerce all eight years as well.

Additional comment from candidate:
I have a record of taking a conservative, business-minded approach to public service. I’m a life-long Republican and a tax-cutter who believes in the rule of law. When I was elected to the Florida House, I acted to provide relief for Floridians as the global economy was in one of the worst recessions in history. I worked with Governor Rick Scott to bring more jobs to Florida, and will continue to fight for policies that will make our state prosper. I am pro-life, a life-time member of the NRA, and a father who cares about the quality of our schools. My ultimate goal in public service is to create a community where kids like my daughter can chase their dreams, and enjoy the unlimited potential that only America can offer.
