What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Governments at one point will turn on the people they are to serve and instead start feeding on the people. This hasn't changed since then. Survival and freedom for human beings is certainly a cause for America's Founders to do what they did.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe in the Ten Commandments but am opposed to religious legalism and zealotry, I believe that Jesus Christ died to forgive everybody's sins and and I have accepted that grace. God blesses us and provides but insists all of us have free will.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

No Answer

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I'm human, I won't be labeled conservative or liberal. That kind of limited, dualistic, group-think mentality has led to the decay of our society and nation. Technically, I guess I'm a pro-life Libertarian? You can judge me for yourself and label me as you wish, if you insist. Here's how I stand on the issues: http://luke4senate.com/issues

Additional comment from candidate:

Regarding marriage, I don’t believe it is wise to have any level of government pass laws defining and governing any marriage, and the federal government is not authorized to at all. All individuals may engage in the act of marriage according to their own beliefs, as is their right as consenting adults. Citizens can always enter into a civil contract in their particular state where the only role the government has is that of a record keeper of the contract and courts to settle disputes of the contract if necessary but that should be subject to local jurisdiction. It must be noted that states have passed laws regarding marriage and laws must apply to all equally, access for all. So if a state does have laws governing marriage it must be accessible by all citizens. The solution I believe, is to remove government from marriage.
