Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only in the case of saving the LIFE of the mother.
What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?
Ensure the military has at its disposal the intelligence, surveillance and weapons capabilities to destroy all violent threats to American citizens at home and abroad. Identify threats and actively pursue terrorists and destroy them in place. Encourage cooperation with our international allies through strong trade and economic alliances to illustrate that peace through cooperation mutually benefits all concerned. Absolutely forbid any foreign system of law especially Sharia Law to be introduced to our legal system. Recommit to educating our youth and future naturalized citizens on the U.S. Constitution emphasizing its incontestable primacy as the law of the land.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our founders recognized man's fallen nature and the tendency in those who have been entrusted with power of governance over others to abuse and exploit their positions in the absence of appropriate checks and balances. They understood from a deep study of history and philosophy that individuals must be held accountable and that, to establish justice, a system of governance must be created that explicitly defined boundaries and limitations of power within the three branches of government.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe in Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, and that His Word and Spirit are the primary governing forces in my life. That is why I believe so strongly in the sanctity of life, the importance of the biblical portrait of marriage, and the important but limited role of government in our nation. I am a practicing Roman Catholic and have been married to my wife, Lisa for the past 32 years. We have three sons and five daughters. We are committed Christians and actively encourage our friends and community to advocate and defend our Christian heritage in the public square. I am running this race to inspire other committed Christians to be courageous and determined in the defense of our faith and country.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
I served my country as a Marine Corps Officer for 10 years. I did three deployments, two to Asia and saw combat during Desert Shield/Desert Storm. I have been endorsed by Eagle Forum for the second time over my opponent. I have been endorsed by Combat Veterans for Congress. I have been endorsed by Special Operations Speaks. I have been actively involved with the pro-life movement since leaving active duty receiving the Pro-Life Volunteer Award from the Women's Centers of Greater Chicagoland. I was a board member of Catholic Citizens of Illinois for 18 years advocating for Christian traditional values and natural families. In 2005, I cofounded the Wounded Heroes Foundation, Inc with a group of colleagues in direct response to shortcomings observed in the care and support of seriously wounded armed forces personnel returning from war in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have been an active member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight of Councils in both Illinois and Florida.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
Allow market driven solutions. Aggressively pursue fraud against the government. Allow the sale of insurance across state lines. Encourage healthier lifestyles through premium incentives. Develop a system where people with preexisting conditions be provided access to insurance overage by establishing a universal coverage risk pool. Strictly define preexisting conditions.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The government boosts the economy by strictly adhering to those functions limited by the Constitution to provide for necessary infrastructure and transportation systems that promote interstate commerce in the most efficient and cost effective manner. All manner and substance of regulation should focus on public safety, equitable treatment under the law, and equal opportunity to all citizens. The government has no role in picking winners or losers in industry or business. The government should not be manipulating markets by encouraging consumer pursuits that are not supported by market realities. The government's primary role in boosting the economy should be to stay out of it to the greatest extent possible and not encumber innovation and enterprise by overburdening regulation and taxes.
What changes should be made to the tax code?
The changes that were recently signed into law should be made permanent, so families and businesses can plan adequately their future. Greater tax cuts should be pursued to increase economic activity and promote greater self reliance.
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
Lower taxes to encourage economic development. Encourage people to pursue work because of its inherently ennobling benefit to individuals and society alike. We must recognize that work in the trades and manufacturing is essential to the health of a nation and encourage a renaissance in trade education. An educated and able workforce will create its own economy through innovation and experience. Fight the legalization of recreational marijuana which will cause more people to be unemployable and have a detrimental effect on the economy.
How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?
Limit Social Security payments to those that have actually paid for the benefit and stop using Social Security for programs and payments that fall outside of its mandate.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
As a professional military officer I was educated and trained in the military art of warfare. I believe it to be essential experience to have functional knowledge of military affairs in an office regulated by the Constitution in the responsibility of national defense. For the past 24 years, as a small business owner and real estate developer, I am fully aware of the impact the government and economy have on one's ability to maintain a business and make a profit. My personal experiences during the economic downturn of 2006-2010 have provided me an incredible insight into the disastrous effects of government interference on markets. Government, credit rating agencies and big bank collusion bankrupted the country and no one was held accountable. Lack of accountability and greed has had a profound effect on our nation, and people who have lived through and survived such experiences bring priceless knowledge and wisdom to the office.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I swam across the Danube River from Romania to Bulgaria in 1978 as the only American participant during the 100 year anniversary of the start of the Russo-Turkish War. Both countries were behind the Iron Curtain at the time. Because of Communist control, it was the first time my father was allowed back to Bulgaria to visit his family after 40 years, having left at the age of 14 in 1938.
