OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

1. Free enterprise and the right to private property turn mankind's natural self interest into the fairest and most productive economic system there is, and are the key to national prosperity.

Strongly Agree

2. It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

3. The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Strongly Agree

4. Government should enforce laws designed to protect the border and to prevent illegal entry of persons into the country.

Strongly Agree

5. The Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) should be repealed by Congress.

Strongly Agree

6. Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

7. Marriage is a union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

8. Efforts to bring Islamic law (shariah) to America do not pose a threat to our country and its Constitution.

Strongly Disagree

9. Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which permitted our system of limited government.

14. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

1. Erosion of the Constitution, resulting in the expansion of the federal government beyond its enumerated powers, infringements on individual rights and usurpation of the the powers of the states and the people. Symptoms of this problem include the un-Constitutional, socialist law of Obamacare, Presidential abuses of power, improper alliances, and an incompetent Supreme Court. 2. The national debt, because it threatens our security and weakens us as a nation. Related issues are the Federal Reserve (it should be audited and then abolished), the income tax (which violates the 1st and 4th Amendments and should be replaced by the Fair Tax), and international relations (the misuse funds for foreign aid, and damaging economic/trade agreements). 3. Corruption. Few would dispute that virtually all levels of government, but especially the Congress and the Presidency, have been corrupted by powerful business, lobbying, banking, and global interests.

15. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

There are no circumstances in my opinion under which abortion should be acceptable. The tragic crimes of rape and incest, especially when they result in pregnancy, deserve the strongest punishment and condemnation under our system of justice, and their victims extensive mercies. We have a societal responsibility to care for unwanted and orphaned children, and that responsibility should be handled by state and local agencies and not the federal government.

16. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constitution, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court; the rest of the entities (Academia, Industry, Media, Professional Sports) have no authorities

17. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian, which means that I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that I am saved by His sacrifice and grace and His willingness to forgive my sins. I believe that God loves everyone, and desires for everyone to know Him. I believe that one role of the secular government is to protect the right of citizens, a right given to them by their Creator, of freedom of religion in keeping with the First Amendment. I believe that God leaves us free to choose our beliefs, and that our government should do likewise. I believe that government should neither establish nor prohibit the free exercise of religion, and that where it does the people are justified and duty-bound to oppose that government.
