Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

This is a question that has troubled and convicted my spirit for years. All life is a precious gift from God and I believe that what God has created man had no right to destroy. My spiritual conflict begins when I think in terms of rape and incest; I find it difficult to be "black and white" on this issue. Many will consider my answer vague but it is my truth and one of the most difficult questions for me to answer. Ultimately I would hope that everyone would chose life but I can and will not judge and will only pray that God leads us to make the right decision and forgives us and redirects us when we don't.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

America's Founding Fathers in their wisdom and having lived under "Constitutional Monarchy" recognized that although there is a need for a government structure to maintain order that there must also be protections against the government, one person, or a group of people becoming to powerful so their approach offered a system based on separation of powers and checks and balances in which the ultimate power was to rest in the hands of the people not a select few.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian, I believe that all power rest with God that he is omnipotent and that he sent his son, Jesus Christ as a sacrifice for our sins. My personal value and belief system is centered in my belief in God and his son Jesus Christ. I have the only campaign that has actually made it's focus "servant leadership"; our campaign team and volunteers travel throughout our Congressional District serving and feeding the poor, homeless, and veterans. I believe in the concept of "Doing well by doing good." I will never be perfect but I begin and end my day in prayer so that each day I am asking God for direction, grace, mercy and to use me as an instrument of his good and perfect will. In the words of Ronald Reagan, "We can't help everyone but everyone can help someone."

I have been active in conservative politics for more than 20 years; first working for the Bob Dole / Jack Kemp campaign as a college student. I have also worked on both of George W. Bush's presidential campaigns, as well as campaigns for John McCain and Mitt Romney. My internship during college was at the Department of Commerce under the George H. Bush Administration. Most recently, I assisted Senator Ted Cruz as a member of his "Strike Force" team in Indiana. Here is a link regarding my conservative political background: http://www.t-g.com/story/2297280.html

Additional comment from candidate:

This is a crucial time for our country and our district, it is time for people of faith to step up and stand up for the values that have made our country great. We must rein in federal government spending, rebuild our economy, protect and secure our borders, and establish an education system that truly leaves no child behind, ensuring an equal and fair opportunity for everyone to achieve the American dream. We must look beyond political parties and commit ourselves to a "Christian world view" that believes we have a responsibility to each other with special attention to those who are the most vulnerable in our society.
