The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Agree

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

None (possible consideration, if necessary, to save the life of the mother)

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The understanding that all mankind has a sinful/fallen nature necessitates the need for government. The fact that those in power can also readily be corrupted and abuse their power (with absolute power corrupting absolutely) requires that measures were put in place to keep power from being concentrated, in order to prevent those elected from ever being able to attain an absolute power. For the system designed to work as intended, the moral people must be vigilant in protecting their rights.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I believe that God is the source for all authority. In His authority (and love) He allows humankind to establish government for the purpose of order and structure in society to enable individuals to live their lives freely as He has accorded to humankind the right to self-determination. The chief end of man is to glorify God, though not all will (which He permits in this life.) To glorify God one must have a relationship with Him which is only made possible through faith in Jesus Christ- believing that He died on the cross for sin, that He was buried, and rose again on the third day. I believe this and in which I place my faith. The result for me personally is to now live a life that honors God which I seek to do in pursuing federal office where I will work to ensure that our laws are consistent with the Constitution (which was founded upon Judeo-Christian values.)

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

My views have been taught in my classrooms when asked questions on these matters over the past 7 years and additional support for these views can be found in various posts written over the years. As I have not previously held public/elected office I do not have a formal track record to which voters can look, but they are welcome to visit my endorsement page at: www.karenroseberryforsenate.com/endorsements

Additional comment from candidate:

On question #3 I actually favor the construction of a double razor wire fence as the primary necessary infrastructure on our border (with a wall used in certain sections when the double razor wire fence may be in need of some additional fortification) and that would be part of a comprehensive border security program to give complete control over entering and exiting the United States
