Agree

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Agree

The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.

Strongly Disagree

The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Agree

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.

Strongly Disagree

I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

To save the mothers a life, rape, and incest.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Mankind’s "ambitions" or natural and deeply embedded desires for power, influence, and authority.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I'm reasonable "man of faith" who accepts that I don't have all the answers and who prays that God gives me the wisdom and guidance to make sound, commonsense decision.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Somewhat Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

My record is that of a public servant. As a Sheriff's Commander with over 28 years of law enforcement experience, my fundamental duty has been to serve mankind. I have been defending the United States Constitution, California Constitution, the rights of republicans and democrats my entire adult life. I believe in strong national security (military and border control), a free market economy, and most traditional values. I believe the nation is strongest when each individual takes responsibility for him or her self. As a police officer, I have always respected and supported the laws of this land regardless of my personal opinions.

Additional comment from candidate:

AMERICAN DREAM- In 1983 (14 years old), I was living in a warehouse with my father. We shared the same bed in the loft of a makeshift office. I had to bathe in a sink and would spend hours every weekend at the local laundromat washing our clothes. In 1986, I graduated from Loara High School in Anaheim and was hired by the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. My first job was as a civilian washing the undergarments of inmates in the basement of the Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana. Twenty-two years later, I came back to command that same facility. I'm currently a Commander of the 5th largest sheriff's department in the nation. I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Harvard University's Leadership in Crises Program, Notre Dame Executive Integral Leadership Program, West Point Leadership Program. I've been married 24 years to Kristine and we have two amazing children, Cody a 2nd year law student at Loyola Law School and Kortney, a graduate of UD
