Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion is an ugly and tragic event, but regardless of legality those who are determined to have one will find some method to carry it out. This reality leads me to believe that abortion should be allowed up to the point of viability of the fetus outside the womb(no late term abortions). If access is restricted. women who are already in a vulnerable situation will resort to 'homemade' methods of unscrupulous back alley providers where there is no safety oversight and little to no legal recourse should any harm be done. I believe the focus surround the issue should not be lobbying efforts to influence legislative policy. Monetary and other resources should instead be used for better education and resources to prevent unplanned pregnancies as well as expanded adoption and/or support networks to provide more alternatives to an abortion.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The struggle of mankind can be described as an effort by the many to prevent the tyranny of the few. For most of our history a tiny percent of the population controlled legal, military, and economic interests while oppressing, often through murder, any who disagreed. Most people can be called good, but their are always those who through greed, malice, or other motivation seek power to serve their own ends.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was raised catholic and have studied many of the religions of the world. I generally agree with christian morals as presented in the 10 Commandments and new testament but draw upon many aspects of Buddhism as well. Based on a strong interest in physics I have concluded that their is a single entity that contains all of reality. This is what I would consider to be god, although I do not believe it to be an anthropomorphic entity with human characteristics as presented in the Abrianic religions. To me it is more akin to the force in Star Wars in that it can serve as a place of refuge, security, inspiration, self-reflection through prayer or meditation, and forgiveness of past transgressions. It can also be used for evil by those that corrupt the teachings of their faith to support their own agendas. I try to live in a manner consistent with the teachings of both Jesus and Buddha in that love, honesty, forgiveness, and tolerance when given are often reciprocated.

I will describe my ideology as I do not have a public track record beyond my website as of yet. I grew up very liberal but during college I began to shift to the right. I studied finance and economics and began to reflect on the role of government in the economy and peoples' lives in general. I am first an economic conservative who believes that low taxes and minimum government intervention in the economy leads to the best outcome for the most people. I feel that economic issues, because of the economy's affect on society as a whole, are the most important topics that a government can address. Besides the 2nd amendment and a belief that government should not meddle in peoples' lives I tend lean a little left on social issues, but with pragmatism in mind.

While there are many policy issues that need to be addressed I feel that meaningful progress will be difficult to impossible until the rampant corruption in politics is addressed. A generally accepted fact for a long time, and now backed by a Princeton University study, the magnitude of the problem runs much deeper than most want to believe. I intend to tackle this problem head on without regard to the political social posturing that newcomers often succumb to. I will push simple legislation within my first 100 days and also seek to identify and publicly disclose those legislators that are guilty of abusing their rank and position. This will cause a degree of tumult, but I am confident that once the dust settles there will be meaningful action in addressing pressing policy issues.
