The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
All life is precious, and I believe that life begins at conception. In the event where the life of the mother is at risk, or in cases of rape and incest abortion should be permitted. The tragedy associated with a criminal assault cannot be minimized or simply psychologically erased. As such, the decision to carry to term or abort should be relegated to the mother in a non-judgmental environment, in my opinion.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
In sum, "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely". The founding fathers recognized the nature of man to seek and sustain power in any form, and reject, by any means, actions to limit such power. As a psychologist, I recognize and see how these fail safe mechanisms in the Constitution are challenged and distorted or corrupted. This is made quite evident in rejected efforts at term limits, and the tendency to promote dynastic and nepotistic political lineage.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
By virtue of my Catholic upbringing, strong family values and parochial school training, I readily identify myself with my Catholic faith. This is not to say that I am a perfect individual. I assert that my moral compass is not driven by polls, secular social trends or politically correct dialogue. It is guided by my belief in God, and love of family and country.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Very Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
As this is my first foray into the political world, I can only refer to my stated positions, and accomplishments as a businessman, psychologist, spouse and father, raising a family in today's environment. More importantly, I have made a decision to enter this race, not because I am seeking a new career, but rather I believe that my skill-set in the private sector, as a healthcare provider and former executive, psychologist and problem solver is missing in our Congressional leaders. As a long term resident of the district, I know the aches and pains, fears and worries of the people that the current system ignores or negates with back-room political deals. I am not a politician, or related to a politician. I am a true outsider, a proven leader that wants to bring common sense back to DC., vote to reduce the size of government, reduce spending and adhere to the Constitution as the guiding principle of our Republic.

Additional comment from candidate:
I have been shaking hands across this wonderful district, from north to south. I have met wonderful people on both sides of the aisle. Yet, it is clear that their frustration with the elite political class is palpable. As such, in my opinion, there is a fundamental choice to be made in this election: 1.maintain the status quo. (As Ronald Reagan said, "status quo is Latin for 'the mess we're in'"); 2. Continue to send career politicians or legacy politicians to DC; or 3. Send someone who will bring a fresh perspective - promote private enterprise, reduce the size of government, respect life, adhere to the Constitution (it is NOT a suggestion), honor and protect our military and all who put on a uniform to protect our way of life, secure our nation and support our allies. The choice is clear. The first two options are only a recipe for "business as usual". The voters deserve more. Please support my campaign at duomeforcongress.com
