Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Ryan is strongly pro-life and believes all lives are precious and we should do whatever we can to change hearts and minds and protect innocent children who have innate constitutional rights. Ryan will fight for the rights of children waiting to be born and stand up to protect the most vulnerable among us. Ryan supports legislation to ban the sale of fetuses and seeks more opportunities for an expecting mother to hear and see the little heartbeat of her child. He believes that abortion should not be permissible. Ryan also believes there should be better options and lower costs for adoption and increase needed support for single mothers by making it harder for deadbeat fathers who abandon their children to skip out from their financial obligations. Ryan will stand up to protect life and promote family values for Indiana.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Ryan is a conservative that believes as our Founders did in limited government and adherence to our Constitution. James Madison in Federalist No. 51 described perfectly the reasoning by saying, "If men were angels, no government would be necessary." Our Constitution and the separation of powers provides necessary safeguards for our citizens and protection from an overreaching or tyrannical government against the individual. Ryan will stand up for our Constitution and your God-given rights.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Ryan is a Christian who believes we are saved by Grace through Jesus Christ our Savior. Ryan is a member and current President of the Church Council and Congregation at Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus, Indiana.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Ryan is proud of his record of conservative leadership and fiscal responsibility on the Bartholomew County Council including reforming the veteran's services office, supporting law enforcement, and keeping tight fiscal control over spending. On the council, he was a responsible steward of over $20 million of your tax dollars. By prioritizing and cutting where needed, all while services to our residents were increased, Ryan lowered taxes by 4% during his tenure on the Bartholomew County Council. Ryan is also strongly pro-life, supports traditional family values, and will fight to preserve your God-given Constitutional rights including the 2nd amendment.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

Ryan believes encouraging a pro-business and thriving economy by limiting government involvement, limiting taxation and reducing burdensome regulations which hinder expansion and growth is the best approach. Ryan believes that a free market and quality education is the best solution to unemployment.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Ryan knows that as a country we are missing out on incredible innovation and opportunities from individuals, the private sector, and the free market throughout the health care industry. Ryan will promote ideas and legislation which allows innovation in the health and insurance sectors. Ryan believes the best results for our citizens will be when doctors and nurses can go back to treating patients and not spending precious time, energy and resources on ineffective government regulations and mandates.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

Ryan believes strongly in our Constitution and the notion of limited government. He knows the economy does best and innovates most when the government is not involved in the economy.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

Ryan is a fifth generation Hoosier with the right experience at the right time. He has a strong record of conservative leadership on the Bartholomew County Council and as President of the Council fought and delivered for our Veterans and Law Enforcement and increased services to the people all while lowering taxes by 4%. Ryan also cut his own salary while on the Council. He is a true conservative with experience and a strong record of service. Ryan is a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. He is also a proven leader in our community, leading multiple successful fundraising campaigns for the arts in Columbus and active at his Church. Ryan is currently in his third term as President of the Church Council and Congregation at Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus.
