The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.

Strongly Disagree

The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Strongly Agree

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.

I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I'm against ALL abortions. I understand that a female's position on the matter for rape / incest / life-threatening situation. None the less, the government should NOT be involved and should NOT be financially supporting this procedure. This is a private matter between and doctor and his patient.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Our Founding Father's were opposed to the oppressive tyrannical government by the King of Great Britain. They sought freedom from imposing taxes, defend their Creator's given rights and uphold their Assent to Law without seeking approval from the King. They laid the ground work that government is instituted by men and derives its power from the consent of the governed and NOT from a dictator. The power of government needs to equitably distributed to avoid despotism by any one form of government

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised catholic. I attend church weekly. I have been married to my wife for over 21 years. I understand the religious and political positions of the church. I may not always agree with their opinions or position regarding each topic. I live an honest honorable life. Each day I do my best to raise my children and support my family. I serve the citizens of Maryland as a law enforcement officer (MD State Police) and my country as a U.S. Marine for the last 25 years. I have taken an oath to uphold the U.S. Constitutional and I take that oath seriously. I want to continue my service to my country in another capacity (legislative). I hold myself to a higher set of morals than most individuals. I will continue to conduct myself accordingly and not let the voters of District 1 down. I will not tarnish the political office as others have in the past.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Very Conservative

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I believe my initial responses to questions 1-22 will exhibit my conservative values. Question 8: I'm against allowing ANY Syrian refugee from entering the U.S. regardless of the vetting process. I do not believe they will assimilate with our society based on their beliefs in Sharia Law (Islam). * I do NOT support an Orwellian / Big government * I want a nationwide "open" and/or concealed weapon carry law for legal gun owners * I believe in a fair flat tax for personal income and corporation taxes * Encourage Government reform (term limits for House of Reps, Senate & U.S. Supreme Court * Welfare reform (Stop enabling the lazy - get them back to work)
