QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Life of the mother

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Agree

Supported constitutional amendment vote in Indiana. Federal override prevented the amendment.

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

Religious conviction has always been at risk. The real threat is demonic. Laws will fail if God wants to test our faith (Matthew 10:22-24). Live by faith not sight.

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

These are enshrined human rights not by men but by God. Even the Father allowed His faithful apostles to minister to the Gospel while imprisoned for their faith

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Individual faith should be exercised in every aspect of life. Keep men’s institutions out of the equation. Kingdoms of men never prevail over the throne of the Christ

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Neutral

Global diplomacy is not my responsibility. Peace is nuanced including military preparedness but God told Israel not to trust their safety to mighty armies.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

We do have a responsibility to not swamp emergency room care because it’s very costly. Our current approach is poorly sustainable.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

We must take more personal responsibility to Illness due to lifestyle. Insurance should protect against the uncontrollable elements of disease and accident

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Labor markets should determine wage rates.

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Agree

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

Incentives can assist college candidates but it is a policy elective, not a requirement or guarantee

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

Fund Article 8 common education, Article 9 education and humane treatment of mentally challenged,as well as aged and infirmed. Corrections and juvenile reform are constitutional.Audit reduce IEDC . Cut incentives to data centers.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Neutral

Again global diplomacy is not my responsibility. Immigration is another nuanced subject where walls are not a nuanced response

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Neutral

I agree with state cooperation with lawful immigration enforcement that guarantees due process.

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Depends. We have a large body of federal law and national debates to establish border policy. Legality matters. I vote for federal representation to determine this policy.

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

Once trained in emergency response which is a personal choice for the teacher

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Common sense which is not so common. I do support red flag laws mainly to interfere with suicidal ideation

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

Close the farm act loophole.

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

As chair of Family and children I focus on Encouraging foster and adoption routes for families ,improving DCS performance protecting children, and improving affordability for utilities, rents, and protection from predatory lenders

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Disagree

Not as a guide anyway, no.

Life. Listening. Learning. 20 years service to our state. Married to one woman now deceased. Homeschooled raised 4 strong thoughtful children. Always trusted with responsibility by every employer I worked for.

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

Founders believe this as well

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

People should be judged on the quality of their character

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Received Christ as a young teen thru baptism. My true law book and guide is Gods Word. Spiritual service is simply described and challenging to live. Love your neighbor. Love your enemy. Attend to the fatherless and widows and keep oneself unadulterated by worldly priorities. Judge righteous judgment. Forgive others of their sins as I wish for God to be merciful for my sins. Vengeance and retribution belong to God not me.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

Current law in Indiana. Works well

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Disagree

States decide how to allocate delegates. I like checks on Federalism

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism is a threat to moral character. Any moral deficiency might weaken security
