1. Seriously crack down on fraud, waste, and abuse within the system! 2. Possibly make minor tweaks to retirement ages, etc. 3. Grow the economy to provide more funding to the system.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Abolish the Department of Education. Also, eliminate the "frivolous" spending our government engages in. Wasting hard-earned tax dollars to study cow "flatulence," for example! There are countless other ways our federal government WASTES money. Those need to be stopped immediately! Many other government functions could probably also be outsourced to the private sector, resulting in better performance while saving many tax dollars.
Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?
None. Taxpayers should have absolutely no responsibility for paying off the loans of individuals who knowingly took on those obligations.

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
I believe this phrase should mean that government, other than continuing to exempt churches from taxation and using some churches as polling places for elections, should have no involvement with churches at all. There should be no attempt to dictate "doctrine" or "policy," or tell a church what it must or must not do. And government should never threaten a church with loss of its tax-exempt status if it doesn't perform certain ceremonies or services.

After years of rampant "over-immigration," as a nation, we need to seriously consider the number of people we allow to enter our country--legally--to begin the process of becoming citizens. In a VERY LIMITED number of cases, we should allow in those people who have skills/abilities that will be beneficial to our economy, and those who are fleeing religious or political persecution. And those who break our laws by entering our country illegally should return to their homelands, and, if they so desire, begin the process of immigrating to our country legally. They should never be rewarded for their lawbreaking by being placed ahead of those who have followed our immigration laws.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
No additional gun control laws are needed. Instead, we need to ENFORCE the laws that are already on the books, and punish criminals who use guns to commit crime in a swift and sure manner. As a nation, we've gotten so far away from the idea of timely, meaningful punishment, that there's little if any deterrent to criminals who use guns to kill or harm others.

No. There's not nearly as much "racism" in our nation as the media and democrats like to portray. However, those two groups have a vested interest in stirring up perceived racial animosity, so as to motivate certain racial groups to vote in greater number.
