What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The founding fathers recognized the central power and authority of a monarchist state centered on one individual could untimely lead to corruption of that individual and the loss of liberty and freedom of the citizen because absolute power can corrupt absolutely. By defining, separation and limiting power across three branches of government through constitution the founding fathers initiated a series of checks and balances that when faithfully executed, protected the rights of all citizens.

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Government continued intervention in the health care market has been nothing short of a disaster. We must permit free market forces and reduction of government involvement to create an atmosphere where the market and self-regulate to a lower financial plateau.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

It is not the role of government “boost the economy”. In a constitutional republic government has two primary purposes – to defend the border and Constitution in terms of the rights of the people.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

For much our early history there was no income tax and the American government was funded by tariffs. The modern cumbersome ever expanding tax code not only adds complexity that permits government to expand, from this the tax code needs to be greatly reduced in terms of complexity and income extraction.

The absolute best way to decrease unemployment is to seal the border against illegal immigration. Illegal immigration puts massive downward pressure on the American wage structure and is a key component in the destruction of the American middle class.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Government programming such as Obamacare and social engineering tax structures such as the earned income tax credit help to subsidize an underclass of part time workers since these workers can survive by working less hours and lower pay, make lower contributions to the social security fund. Until this construct is reversed, it will be difficult to maintain benefits for future generations.

My combination of military experience as a combat veteran in Iraq and my management experience as an IT professional makes me uniquely qualified to meet the challenges of representing the North Carolina 3rd Congressional district in these early years of the 21st Century.
