What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The Constitution created separate powers in the three branches of government to prevent the overt misuse of power that is inherent in mankind. The series of checks and balances created a framework that has worked and endured for over 200 years.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Abortion should not be allowed in most all situations. From a medical viewpoint, life begins at conception and should be protected from that point on. The minimal allowance for abortion can be considered in saving the life of the mother. This is rare and would be a medical determination. The debate about abortion in rape and incest creates a discussion that is easily decided until the actuality is personal and would require seeking God's will.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a lifelong Methodist. I deeply respect the writings of C.S. Lewis and Billy Graham. I have been influenced by personal meetings with Dr. Lloyd Ogilvie and Dr. Robert H. Schuller. I have read much from Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and others. My father has had a profound influence on me with his lifelong study of Christianity and how to live life on a daily basis from having a Heroin addict from Puerto Rico live with us in the late 60's to using our pharmacy as our county parish. God is good! Soli Deo Gloria!
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I have served in public office for over 30 years. I have always tried to follow the Constitution. I have followed a limited government policy and tried to keep government doing only what it should do. Governing should be like parenting and not like grand parenting. Free enterprise should be promoted and business should not be hindered by burdensome regulations.

Additional comment from candidate:
I am deeply humbled to serve in public office and always strive to do things right the first time. Government is a big business and needs to treat the citizens as its best customers. Government done right is a good and necessary thing!
