What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our founders understood history and the tyrannical tendencies of government and how that tyranny is in direct violation of our natural, God-given freedoms. With an anchor in Judeo-Christian values the founders of this country set forth to free the citizens from the tyranny of a King and build a constitution that separates powers and radically limits governments ability to violate natural law and our God-given freedoms. The result was a Constitutional Republican - if we can keep it.
Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God, Constitution, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
No laws should allow the intentional and purposeful killing of a innocent human being. We do know that there are certain procedures that in order to save one life may, with certain probability, lead to the demise of another life. An Ectopic pregnancy is an example of this tragic situation. Fortunately, advances in medicine and surgery will soon lead to the end of such tragic situations.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian. I believe in the life changing grace found through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I believe that God has given us this freedom and Government's true role is to preserve the God-given freedoms we have received.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
As a fiscal conservative and I have worked to reform county government and make it more efficient. To that end, our county's operational spending is less than it was when I started as a commissioner in 2005. In defending the values of life, I succeeded in ending locally directed Title XX dollars from going to Planned Parenthood. The county had been funding PP for the prior 15 years before I assumed office. Being a proponent of open government, I lead our county's effort to increase of open government to gain an A rating from Ballotpedia.
