OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Neutral

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Neutral

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

I believe in the case of rape, incest and health and safety of the mother

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Strongly Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

We must take a serious look at our entitlements. An expanding free society only makes one dependent upon the government.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Agree

Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.

Disagree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

It is a simple definition. Churches and States should operate separate.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Neutral

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

I will push and support an open marketplace. We cannot rely on one healthcare provider. An active and competitive market will decrease premiums, and help to lower costs.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Neutral

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Our Federal immigration laws are currently in place. One of the problems is that we are not enforcing them. I support legal immigration. It is the foundation of our country. I do not think anyone should be able to cut the line. I am closely following what our federal legislators are doing with this.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was raised in a christian household, and continue to hold my faith important to how I live my life.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am a fiscal conservative that believes that our economic prosperity comes from hard work and a strong legislature supporting capitalism. We must provide the ability for small businesses to thrive and compete in the global market. We must also support our businesses by providing a qualified and trained workforce. My focus will be geared towards connecting educators and business owners to gain high paying jobs for our district. My experience with workforce development through my position at Butler Tech dealing with local, state and federal legislators will be invaluable to helping achieve this.I am already meeting with leaders in this area, and will continue when I am elected.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

I have been an elected official since 2009. I have held the Board President position twice at Monroe Local Schools, and am currently the Vice President at Butler Tech. I have served with excellent Boards of Education at both organizations, and am proud of what we have accomplished. I have experienced very good times, as well as very stressful and difficult situations. They have all given me the experience in dealing with the great responsibility I have as an elected official. I am prepared it, and look forward to the challenge. I have also been a business leader for over 25 years. I have a successful career in the banking/finance industry. I am currently employed for a regional credit union as a loan officer. I will bring extensive knowledge and experience in lending to bring new legislation to our region that will help to stabilize under performing neighborhoods. We must attract new homeownership through incentives for owner occupied properties.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

I am excited to be considered for your vote. I have the experience that it will take to be an effective leader for our district on day one. I will not take the position for granted. I have professional and legislative connections already establish throughout Butler County and the region. I look forward to serving all of you.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.

Strongly Disagree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

Yes

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

None!

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

I have over a decade in education, so a focus will be on connecting educators to businesses. I plan on making it easier for students to access education that is affordable, and relevant to our areas needs. I plan on introducing education funding that will target students who do not choose college as an option. I will also push for legislation to promote home ownership through incentives. We can continue to reinvest in many under served communities.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism does exist. Denying does nothing but help to continue it. I do not feel that our system is inherently racist. I do feel that we should continue to do our best to improve on the progress that has been made. I am open and willing to discuss this very difficult topic.
