Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am pro-life without exception. All life is sacred, created by God, and deserves protection in the law. That is why I have consistently voted for and co-authored pro-life legislation during my first term in the House. There is no higher calling for me as a Christian and as a father than to stand in the gap and defend the defenseless.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
Our Founding Fathers separated power between different branches of government and instituted a system of checks and balances in order to prevent one branch from accumulating too much power and growing into tyranny. This protects our freedom and liberty from generation to generation, and that is why we need to fight for the integrity of our Constitution and elect leaders who respect the limits of the legislative branch and speak out when other branches overreach their constitutional authority
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian who is saved by the blood of Jesus. My family faithfully attends the First Baptist Church of Killeen, and we raise our two daughters to love the Lord and seek His plans for their lives. I believe that God has given me a passion for public service. As a Christian, it is my responsibility to use my God-given talents and abilities to serve God and accomplish his purposes in my life and the world around me.
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
For many years, I was a member of the Killeen City Council and also the city’s Mayor. I was consistently elected as a conservative Republican in a majority Democratic city because of my reputation for hard work, fairness, integrity, and solving problems. I was able to create local jobs, growth the economy, support our law enforcement, prioritize veterans services, care for the military families in our heavily-military community, and provide conservative fiscal oversight. In the House, I was named an appropriator, where we wrote the most conservative budget in Texas history. I proudly co-sponsored or co-authored bans on dismemberment and partial birth abortion, shut down Planned Parenthood’s state funds, defended religious liberty, banned sanctuary cities, and defended the Second Amendment. I also wrote and passed important legislation for our military families and Texas military installations, and carry the endorsement of 14 retired U.S. Army Generals and Command Sergeants Major. I am
What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
I am a small business owner, and I know first-hand the burden placed on our jobs market by over-regulation and taxes. We need to cut taxes, streamline government processes, and reduce regulation, in order to free up the market to create jobs and grow. That is what made the American economy the greatest in the world, and if we adhere to these time-tested principles and conservatism, we will reduce unemployment and grow our economy.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
It is not the job of government to provide healthcare coverage to everyone. It is the role of government to reduce burdensome regulations and provide a free and open marketplace so that health care is more affordable for everyone. We need to reduce regulations and mandates, repeal the Affordable Care Act, and replace it with conservative alternatives that will lower costs and increase coverage rates for private insurance. That will make for a more affordable system and protect our healthcare freedom.
What role should government play in boosting the economy?
The state should produce conservative budgets, reduce regulation, and a prioritize a robust infrastructure of roads and essential core services. We must also improve our public schools, colleges, and university system, to promote a well educated workforce. By doing so, we will create a climate for economic growth and job creation.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I am a father who is raising two wonderful girls, a husband to an amazing wife, and a small business owner. I have been involved at the local level in my community for decades, and am honored to be our community’s representative at the Texas House.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I’m a small businessman, husband, father, Christian, and proven conservative Representative who achieved great victories for our military families, military installations, and conservative values during my first term in the House. I was named the Most Powerful First Term Representative by a Texas state news journal because I rolled up my sleeves and got things done. Together, we will continue to move the conservative agenda forward in Texas, and make this state a model to the nation for freedom, liberty, and prosperity.
