14. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

As witnessed firsthand from the English Monarchy, our Founding Fathers recognized the danger of one person holding too much power, and so they established 3 different branches of government and a system of checks and balances to protect our nation from any potential abuse of power. This system was devised to prevent corruption within the government and to ensure our individual liberties and freedoms would not be lost.

15. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

As a family physician for four decades, I know firsthand that Obamacare fundamentally changes the American healthcare system as we know it. As Georgia’s next U.S. Senator, I will strongly advocate repealing Obamacare in full and replacing it with patient-centered, market-based solutions, such as my Patient OPTION Act. Jumpstarting our economy and providing relief to small businesses nationwide is also a tremendous priority for me. I’ve presented a solution before Congress (the JOBS Act) that would permanently eliminate all corporate income taxes, capital gains taxes, and the estate tax. Doing so would reduce the tax burden on businesses and result in job creation in all industries. As a father of three and grandfather of two, it is important to me that my children and grandchildren will have a sound future that is not threatened by our nation’s unsustainable debt. I’ve been leading the fight in the U.S. House against out-of-control spending that both parties are guilty of doing.

16. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Since coming to Washington, I have consistently fought to defend and protect all innocent human life. As a physician, I know that life begins at conception. That is why I have authored the Sanctity of Human Life Act. As Georgia’s next U.S. Senator, I will continue to defend and protect the lives of the defenseless, powerless, and vulnerable. Furthermore, I’m honored to be the only candidate in this race to receive an endorsement from Georgia Right to Life.

17. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Constituion, Voters, Congress, Supreme Court

18. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am an evangelical Christian who upholds the orthodox, cardinal doctrines of the faith. I believe in the eternal existence of one, true, living, triune God. I believe that Jesus Christ, as the Son of God, was God manifested in human flesh and that He came to earth to be the Redeemer of the human race through His vicarious, atoning death on the Cross as foretold in prophecy. I believe that Jesus Christ was literally, bodily resurrected from the dead. I believe that the Bible is the inerrant Word of God. I believe that biblical morality and biblical principles are the spiritual foundation of our nation and that our Founders recognized their importance. I am thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ for His grace, mercy and redemption in my life. I did not understand the Gospel and make a spiritual commitment to Christ until after I was forty years old. That experience and the spiritual growth and maturity since has been absolutely transformational.
