What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The separation of powers was done after the crafters and writers of the Constitution, primarily James Madison, researched prior governments to understand what had been done before with previous cultures. The primary forms of government that the Founding Fathers admired were those of Greece and Rome. The judicial construct that was used was based upon English Common Law.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Rape and Incest. In some countries such as Muslim Afghanistan, women are kidnapped and raped in order to force them to marry the rapist. We should not allow evil people such as rapists to spread their seed.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I was baptized in the Methodist church but have attended Episcopal churches since about 1982. I was on the vestry at a local Episcopal church. My faith in God and Jesus is based upon sermons, religious study, and personal reading of the Bible. My general practice is to follow the teachings of the Bible and my understanding of what Jesus would do in particular circumstances. It is my observation that many contemporary Christian churches and organizations push the dogma that their version of God and religion is the correct one while others are not. Many religious organizations too often seem to be more interested in accumulation of "market share", money from members, and building of large physical assets. Consequently, I often make direct donations and contributions to organizations that are doing things that help in ways that I feel Jesus would approve of.
