What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
The Founding Fathers knew that men and women are not Angels and that we are all flawed human beings. By carefully defining, separating and limiting the power of the three branches of the federal government, the Founders achieved a balance that wouldn't allow any single branch to dominate or control the others.
Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God first in our lives, Voters, Constitution, Congress, Supreme Court, the rest don't have any authority.
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
Only when the life of the mother is in jeopardy.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I believe God as Creator and Ruler of the Universe and in His Son, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins, and the Holy Spirit and Counselor for us here on earth. I believe in working every day and personal responsibility for providing for me and my family. That America is good and that everyone has a right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That freedom of speech makes it okay for me to disagree with authority and/or have my own personal opinion and share it. I always strive to be more honest, sincere and charitable every day. I believe if you break the law you should pay the penalty and that no one is above the law.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
My voting record is easily accessible from the myfloridahouse.gov website. In addition, I have always voted for tax cuts and to eliminate the corporate income tax and to end politically favored subsidies. I have voted to create competition in education through charter schools and tax credit scholarships. I have consistently voted for pro-life legislation and was the House sponsor for the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which passed in 2013. I voted against the expansion of Medicaid and for more reform in the current Medicaid, Florida Retirement Services and Citizens Insurance programs as they prove to be unsustainable. I've sponsored the Cottage Food Industry bill and continue to look for ways to eliminate unnecessary regulations and to stop using regulations to protect or encourage one industry over another.
