OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

There may be a need for preterm delivery to save the life of the mother or palliative care for an unborn baby with a fatal fetal abnormality. Neither of these treatments are considered an abortion. Therefore abortions are not needed and should not be allowed.

ECONOMY

Redistribution of income is needed to lessen the gap between the wealthy and working classes.

Strongly Disagree

The government should cut spending in order to reduce the national debt.

Strongly Agree

What changes, if any, should be made to the tax code?

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 is set to expire in 2025, which would effectively be a tax increase on most taxpayers. I support making those tax cuts permanent. In addition, repeal exemption for state income taxes paid. Other exemptions should be indexed for inflation to prevent unintended tax increases.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

What should be the relationship between the church and the state?

Churches provide many benefits to citizens in a multitude of ways. The church and the state can partner together to meet the needs of their community and the partnership between the two should be supported and encouraged. The State should not dictate, endorse or limit any specific religion.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

Vaccines should not be required, just recommended.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D)Tax-payer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be de-funded.

Modified B. Healthcare insurance with government assistance based on income should be available while maintaining private options.

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

B

I support the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement to pressure Israel to withdraw from occupied territories, remove the separation barrier in the West Bank, allow full equality for Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel, and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees.

Strongly Disagree

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of Islamic terrorism?

Support of Israel and collaboration with our allies including Israel is important. In addition, securing our borders will assist in preventing domestic terrorists from any organization, including Islamic terrorist, from entering our country to cause us harm.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

The border wall must be completed and border patrol must be increased.

State and federal funds shall be denied to any public or private entity, such as a sanctuary city, that is not in compliance with immigration laws.

Agree

We need to fix our legal immigration system and make it run efficiently. We need to help businesses who need temporary workers, particularly in the agricultural industry, by cutting red tape

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

People who support the values of our country such as free speech, freedom of religion, second amendment, and free enterprise. People who meet immigration requirements and not potential terrorists, drug traffickers, human traffickers or felons.

VALUES

Sexual orientation and gender identity should be protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Strongly Disagree

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not of works. I believe in the Bible as the inspired word of God and I believe the Holy Spirit dwells in us to direct our paths. A Christian world view forms my values. I believe my time on earth is not about me and what I can do or have done but about my desire to serve others and to live in a way that honors God and to do His will.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

What laws would you propose to change present voting practices?

We need to do everything we can to make sure voter rolls are accurate and current. Deceased people should be timely removed from the voter rolls. Audits should be done routinely to ensure compliance. People who violate voting ordinances should be prosecuted and held accountable.

EQUALITY

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Strongly Disagree

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

I believe all people are created in the image of God equally and with rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Racism is wrong and should not be tolerated in any setting.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

I support the use of hydraulic fracking to extract oil and natural gas resources.

Agree

Which comes closest to your view? A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost.

A. Although our environment is an important asset and should be preserved and respected.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information, including interviews and media reports, validating your answer to the previous question (other than your website).

FLSenate.gov (view bills and voting record) https://www.flgov.com/2021/06/01/governor-ron-desantis-signs-fairness-in-womens-sports-act/ https://floridapolitics.com/archives/508345-closing-time-kelli-stargel-the-greatest-asset-is-experience/ https://flaglerlive.com/136056/new-voucher-program/

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized in either civil or criminal court for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No

What else would you like voters to know about you, including your legislative priorities?

While in the Florida House and then the Florida Senate, I have fought for the rights of parents, for educational options for families, for more personal freedom, and less government intrusion in our lives. I was named the Senate Appropriations chair and worked closely with Gov. Ron DeSantis to balance the budget while putting billions in reserve. Early in my legislative career, I was the lead sponsor on bills that resulted in parental notice and parental consent for abortions by minor children. In 2022, Democrats filed 14 gun control bills that I worked to successfully stop in the Senate. Last year I sponsored the bill that protects our daughters from having to compete against biological males, and this year I sponsored the 15-week abortion ban and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed both into law.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Police officers should be personally immune from prosecution for conduct consistent with departmental policy (qualified immunity) while on duty.

Strongly Agree

I support redirecting funds from police departments to mental health and community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

There should be no restrictions on law abiding citizens. Any attempt to limit a persons second amendment right must be provided strong due process. This includes those questioned as mentally unfit to posses guns due to potential threat to themselves or others.

Victims of gun violence should be able to sue firearms dealers and manufacturers.

Strongly Disagree
