This candidate voted for H.R. 485, the Protecting Care for All Patients Act, which would prohibit federal health programs from using discriminatory measures known as Quality-Adjusted Life Years (QALYs.) A vote for the bill is a pro-life position that indicates opposition to reducing or eliminating care for people with various disabilities and chronic conditions.
One of 149 House Republicans who voted for H.R. 3746, the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023, which suspended the nation's debt limit through January 1, 2025. A vote for H.R. 3746 allows the government to spend without limitation for 19 months at an expected cost of $4 trillion.
QUESTIONNAIRE
RIGHT TO LIFE
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).
Strongly Agree
Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?
I am pro-life with exceptions for the life and health of the mother or in cases of rape or incest.
Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?
I supported the overturing of Roe v. Wade so that those decisions could go back to the states. While in Congress, I have also cosponsored legislation, including H.R. 7 that makes Hyde restrictions permanent so that no tax dollars go toward funding abortions and H.R. 6176 that prohibits federal funding from going to Planned Parenthood, and I supported H.R. 26 to protect babies that survive attempted abortions. In Congress, I have been proud to defend those who cannot defend themselves.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
Government should not infringe on our right to exercise religion.
Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.
Strongly Disagree
NATIONAL SECURITY
With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.
B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny.
The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.
Strongly Agree
Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?
Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East, and the success of its military operation is vital to our national security. When Israel is safer, America is safer. When Israel is stronger, we are stronger.
What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?
Under the Biden-Harris administration, we’ve seen our military lose focus of its sole mission, which is our national security. It is paramount that we have a strong military and that we recruit and retain the best and the brightest. A huge part of this is advancing legislation and policies that support our servicemembers and their families who dedicate their lives to protecting and defending our American freedoms.
HEALTHCARE
Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?
COVID vaccinations should not be required. There are other vaccinations that are required in many circumstances; however, those vaccinations are long proven to be effective and have gone through years of clinical trials.
What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.
C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary.
ECONOMY
What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?
Addressing our spiraling economy and crippling national debt to get on a path to fiscal sustainability. We need to do everything we can to allow the free market to thrive and decrease the burden of government regulation and limit government spending.
Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.
Strongly Agree
Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?
No
IMMIGRATION
The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Securing our border is a top priority, and I only support legal immigration under our current system of citizenship for those that legally enter our country.

Strongly Agree
I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.
Strongly Agree
CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY
I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.
Strongly Disagree
2ND AMENDMENT
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
I am a strong proponent of the Second Amendment and agree with the NRA stance that we work to keep guns out of the hands of violent criminals and enforce existing laws aimed at criminals who use guns to commit their crimes.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.
Strongly Disagree
