OTHER INFORMATION

QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Strongly Agree

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Strongly Agree

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Strongly Agree

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

As a practicing Catholic, I believe that life begins at conception, and that all life is a precious gift from God in whose image we are made. This means that I hold a pro-life position that opposes abortion without exceptions and that I believe there are no circumstances under which an abortion should be performed. As a Member of Congress, I am the author of HR 490, the "Heartbeat Protection Act," which attempts to enshrine into law a core principle that "if a heartbeat is detected, a baby is protected."

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Disagree

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

The best thing we can do to ensure the solvency of the Social Security trust fund is to increase our population and get a higher percentage of our people working. That would increase the per capita GDP of our people, and it would increase Social Security's solvency by increasing contributions made to the Social Security system.

What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?

There are no sacred cows in my approach, and I support the enactment of a balanced budget amendment to the United States Constitution. We need to completely overhaul our welfare system to ensure it produces the results it is designed to deliver. This would produce substantial savings and help bring our budget into balance.

Under what circumstances should taxpayers help pay off existing student loans?

None that I can think of.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Governments should not discriminate against individuals, organizations or small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Agree

Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.

Strongly Agree

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Yes

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

Exactly what the constitution says. Congress shall make no law respecting the establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. We shall have freedom of religion but there shall be no state religion. There is no constitutional separation of church and school.

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Disagree

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Strongly Disagree

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

There are many steps that we can take to ensure that healthcare coverage is adequate, affordable, and accessible to all. The first, and most important, step we should take is to repeal ObamaCare. I introduced the legislation to repeal ObamaCare as if it had never been enacted, and my language has passed the House dozens of time. We should allow small businesses to form pools with other small businesses to spread out the risk and lower the costs of health care. We should allow individuals to purchase their insurance across state lines, bringing more competition to the industry while reducing costs and increasing quality. We should provide for meaningful reform of our medical liability system, which would address one of the major reasons for the rise in health care costs in recent years: frivolous lawsuits and the practice of defensive medicine that results from them.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.

Strongly Agree

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

We must continue to have a strong and smart military that can act when necessary to eradicate threats to the United States and its citizens. As a member of Congress I have a long track record of supporting our military through funding to make sure our warriors have the tools they need to win this war on terror. In addition, I am a supporter of President Trump's policies which have decimated ISIS and affiliated terrorist organizations. I am also a strong supporter of the State of Israel and its leader, Benjamin Netanyahu, who I believe understands the threat of radical Islamic terrorism, and how to effectively prevent and respond to it, as well as anyone.

IMMIGRATION

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Strongly Agree

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.

Strongly Agree

Employers should be required to use E-verify to confirm the eligibility of their employees to work in the United States.

Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

We need to design a legal immigration policy that will enhance the economic, social, and cultural well-being of the American people. That could include a points system that recognized their ability to contribute to and assimilate into our society.

EDUCATION

Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.

Disagree

VALUES

Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality which is necessary for our system of limited government.

Strongly Agree

I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.

Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

As I mentioned above, I am a practicing Catholic, and I believe that America was blessed to have Founders who understood that our rights come directly from God. America is a blessed country, and an important part of our nation's foundation is our Founders' understanding that God himself endowed us all with unalienable rights, including the enumerated rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I pray for guidance and strength regularly, and I value the wisdom of the Ten Commandments as an inherent and necessary part of our Judeo-Christian nation and its traditions.

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

I am a full-spectrum, Constitutional Conservative. In my years in Congress, I have established a reputation as one of the country's leading voices on ending illegal immigration, and I even built a prototype of a border wall on the House Floor, which may be seen on my YouTube page. I am also Congress's leading advocate for the unborn, and I am the proud sponsor of HR 490, the Heartbeat Protection Act, which writes into law the concept that "if a heartbeat is detected, the baby is protected." I recently received the highest possible rating of an "A" from the pro-life Susan B. Anthony List, and the "True Blue" award from the Family Research Council. I am a strong advocate for the Second Amendment, and I fully support our Right to Keep and Bear Arms. I have repeatedly earned the endorsement of organizations like the National Rifle Association and Gun Owners of America.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.

No.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?

When I first entered into public life I told people with clarity the principles I lived by and I have lived by them. I've never let them down. I owe my constituents my best effort and my best judgement. People know I've delivered on my promises.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

Mandatory minimum sentencing should be required and enforced for violent crimes.

Agree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

No new restrictions are needed.

OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

I support BDS (boycott, divestment, and sanction) against Israel if they refuse to allow the creation of a Palestinian state.

Disagree

I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.

Disagree

Reparations should be given to people on the basis of race.

Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?

1) The "Heartbeat Protection Act": I have already introduced this pro-life bill in Congress. If enacted, it would save more lives than any other pro-life bill ever introduced, as it writes into law that "if a heartbeat is detected, the baby is protected." 2) The "English Language Unity Act": This makes English the official language of the United States, and I have introduced this legislation in congress. 3) The Fair Tax Bill to replace the Income Tax/IRS with a Sales Tax.

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

We've come a long ways on the race issue in the United States and I agree with the renowned scholar Thomas Sowell who said, "Racism is not dead but is on life support - kept alive by politicians, race hustlers, and people who get a sense of superiority by denouncing others as racists."
