17. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

The enumeration of, separation of, and limitation of governmental power by our Founders was to prevent the type of government overreach that they experienced in England. As we see increasing government overreach in the US(Common Core, Obamacare requirements, restricting gun rights, religious liberty silenced, etc.) into our private lives, I have to believe that it is a direct result of the crumbling of the checks and balances set in place by our Founders.

18. Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Under no circumstances should the life of a child be destroyed. I would also echo Sen. Paul in asking our Democratic opponents: "At what point would you say it should be illegal to end the life of a baby with a beating heart?"

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a committed Christian and I believe that my belief in Jesus Christ requires living out that faith each and every day. For me and my wife Sheila, this means a dedication to fighting injustice through our advocacy for education reform and our service to our local crisis pregnancy centers. It means faithful attendance with fellow Christians at our home church Southeast Christian. It means supporting traditional marriage, religious liberty, and the lives of the unborn. As I have traveled across the Commonwealth, I have met thousands of like-minded Kentuckians who live out their faith in amazing ways and I hope to earn their vote on May 19th.
