14. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
Endowed by our Creator with certain unailienable Rights, among which are life, liberty, property, and pursuit of happiness. We are self-owners.The U.S. Constitution's most fundamental purpose is to protect the citizens from the likely abuses by their own government.
15. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
Freedom of Speech, expression, assembly- We must be free to speak, express our preferrences and concerns, and assemble to discuss actions in pursuit of needs, wants, happiness..especially on political and governance matters..wherever and whenever we sense the need or desire. The entire USA is a "free speech zone", all of the time ! Privacy and freedom to protect ourselves and loved ones-Anyone, particularly the federal government, who can know where you are, who you converse with, what books you read, can know all about your politics, religion, what personal defenses you favor..privacy is a front-line protection from political attack. As you have a Right to your life, you have a Right to protect that life and lives of your loved ones by whatever choice of tools you see most effective. Freedom to control, enjoy, use private property for benefit of your happiness and protection. One cannot sustain independence and personal freedom without personal control over your water, food, shelter.
16. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
Federal government must not be trusted to define when human personhood begins. Get and keep federal Government out of the abortion/ life question. Washington DC Bureaucrats will usurp power and re-define by authoritarian proclaim at every shifting political wind, just as they do now with every issue they deal with. No one should be forced to pay for an abortion they morally oppose. Abortion must not be illegal in all circumstances or it will be done illegally, unsafely, expensively for all of society. Personhood definitions are for science, religious, cultural, deeply personal and family debate and decision..keep federal bureaucrats out of this !
17. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God,Nature,Individual citizens, voters, Constitution, the States, the 3 branches of federal government within their constitutionally-delegated powers.
18. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Deist, as were many of our nation's founders. I believe in God. I do not worship a priesthood nor accept any 2nd hand revelation or transcription of man to be the inerrant word of God. God reveals himself through his works. I was raised Catholic, and have read and studied King James and Catholic Bibles, lots of great advice and beneficial ideas there. I accept the 10 commandments, and practice them as well as that one should treat others as they would want to be treated. My highest value is freedom: "for what avail, the plough or sail, or land, or life, if freedom fail." My standard of conduct is non-aggression (do not mistake that I am a pacifist)..I do not shove others around just to be a bully, but will not accept being shoved. I am a self-owner, as are all cognitive adults. I am responsible for my choices.
