OTHER INFORMATION
Voted Yes for House Roll Call Vote 1337 pro-life 2016 which was the final concurrence vote in the Indiana House on a pro-life bill from this session that banned abortion because of race, gender or disability and also mandated that abortion clinics must dispose of aborted babies through a relationship with a funeral home via either burial or cremation. Currently they are allowed to treat aborted baby bodies as "medical waste". Voted No for SB 20 sexual orientation 2016 which is an amendment to a bill in the Indiana House that would have added special protections for "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" into state law.
QUESTIONNAIRE*
RIGHT TO LIFE
Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.
Strongly Agree
I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.
Strongly Agree
Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
TO SAVE THE LIFE OF THE MOTHER.
RELIGIOUS LIBERTY
Governments should define marriage as between one man and one woman; no other definition of marriage should be legalized or supported with taxpayer or public funds.
Strongly Agree
Religious liberty is at risk in the United States and deserves the highest level of protection in the law.
Strongly Agree
I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.
Yes
What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?
There is no such phrase in our Constitution. The First Amendment was written to protect religion from the encroachment and oppression of government.
NATIONAL SECURITY
The best way to maintain peace is through a strong military.
Strongly Agree
HEALTHCARE
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.
Strongly Disagree
Once again, however, in Indiana those who have a low income do have assistance through the state in purchasing health insurance.
How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?
The high cost of health insurance is driven by high hospital costs, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies. In addition, the Affordable Care Act radically increased the cost of health insurance for most Americans. The General Assembly passed legislation dealing with the costs being charged by nonprofit hospitals. The study of the charges being charged by them is being done this year - 2026.
ECONOMY
It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.
Strongly Disagree
It's the government's responsibility to provide an environment of liberty where people are free to prosper to the level of their own desires and efforts, and not to suppress those who are willing to work hard to increase their incomes.
Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.
Strongly Agree
Taxpayer-funded public education should be guaranteed through college.
Strongly Disagree
Taxpayer-funded education is provided already from kindergarten through grade 12. Also, many grants are also available for a college education.
What government spending would you reduce in order to balance the budget?
Indiana has had a balanced budget through the 20 years I've served as a State Representative.
IMMIGRATION
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
State and federal funds should be denied to any public or private entity, including but not limited to sanctuary cities, that are not in compliance with immigration laws.
Strongly Agree
Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?
Only those who enter legally should be allowed to enter.
2ND AMENDMENT
Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?
Yes
What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?
Convicted felons are already banned from owning firearms. Law-abiding citizens have the right to own firearms.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
I support the legalization of recreational marijuana.
Strongly Disagree
The excuse I commonly hear is that we are losing tax dollars to the states surrounding us who have legalized marijuana. Destroying the futures of our children and grandchildren is not worth the extra tax dollars we claim to be losing.
In priority order, what three areas of legislation do you propose to author or sponsor if elected?
Continued reduction in property taxes; more stringent deep-diving into reducing health insurance costs; always being diligent in protecting religious freedom.
JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY
I support the use of Sharia law as a basis for legislation and judicial decisions in the United States.
Strongly Disagree
ABOUT YOU
When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?
Very Conservative
Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.
My voting record SHOUTS for itself. For example, I was only one of three House Republicans who voted AGAINST the RFRA fix, which was an attack on religious freedom.
What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?
I own three of my own businesses - an insurance agency, a rental business, and an entertainment business (I'm also a singer). I have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. The degree is in Business Management.
Have you ever been convicted of a felony or been penalized for sexual misconduct? If so, please explain.
No
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about you?
I'm not afraid to stand up for the truth and for God's Word. Also, I ALWAYS show up for work.
VALUES
Judeo-Christian values established a framework of morality that is necessary for our system of limited government.
Strongly Agree
I support adding sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as protected classes in non-discrimination laws.
Strongly Disagree
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and died on the cross for my sins. He is my Savior and my Lord, and He is the reason I serve in the General Assembly.
ELECTIONS AND VOTING
People should be able to vote without photo identification.
Strongly Disagree
The Electoral College should be abolished.
Strongly Disagree
EQUALITY
Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?
Racism is frequently used as an excuse to allow illegal entry into the United States.
