15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

The Founding Fathers employed a combination of religious, political, social and economic theories and practices for a free society of citizens to govern themselves without interference from foreign/outside influences. They determined that citizens knew best how to implement government with a free market system of capitalism, which enabled them to retain their personal freedom and liberties. Our democratic republic enables every citizen to make their own station in life.

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

a. Paying off the $17.5 trillion national debt. We must reduce government spending and increase our agricultural and industrial base in order to return to a self-sufficient status without owing a dime to China and Russia. b. Rebuilding the U.S. Armed Forces to Reagan Era limits. If we do not refit and increase our military strength, then we will be unable to protect ourselves in future conflicts. The potential number of enemies has been increasing instead of decreasing since the collaspe of the Soviet Union. However, we have continually reduced the overall strength of our military forces. We must end "sequestration" immediately. c. Return to basics of education and expand our manufacturing and industrial in order to increase the number of job opportunities for a majority of American citizens.

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

Yes, as Rep. Paul Ryan stated during the 2012 Vice-Presidential Debate, abortion should be legal, safe, and rare. Abortion should be between a woman and her conscience, in conversation with her pastor/priest and doctor, and the facility that allows the procedure. The woman must bear the cost of the procedure either on an individual basis or through her health care insurance. The Federal Government should never compensate anyone for an abortion. An abortion is an individual procedure, and it should not be a recurrent event.
