15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

“Religious institutions that use government power in support of themselves and force their views on persons of other faiths, or of no faith, undermine all our civil rights. Moreover, state support of an established religion tends to make the clergy unresponsive to their own people, and leads to corruption within religion itself. Erecting the 'wall of separation between church and state,' therefore, is absolutely essential in a free society.” Quote by - Thomas Jefferson

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

• Removing corruption from politics by reforming campaign finance laws and legislating Term Limits. PAC money and Corporate Campaign Contributions should be deemed illegal. It is ludicrous that we currently allow for a system that provides a legal form for politicians to be bought and paid for by big business. My Campaign is not taking any Corporate Campaign Contributions or PAC monies of any kind. These donations do not come without strings attached, and I find them to be immoral and unethical. • Cutting wasteful government spending, by reducing the size of the government and simply sticking to the constitution. Cutting unnecessary programs by forcing every legislation that contains Mandatory Government Spending to be revisited and reduced. • Putting an end to our government’s violation of privacy by ending the NSA’s domestic spying and data collection, cutting back the IRS by implementation of the Fairness Tax and ensuring the protection of our 2nd Amendment rights.

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

I am not pro abortion. However, I do not think it is the governments place to be making this extremely hard decision for people. It is a very moral, religious and personal decision that should only be pondered and have all aspect weighed by each individual, not by the government.

18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.

God, Voters, Constitution, Congress, Supreme Court

19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

Please refer to the following Thomas Jefferson Quote: “Religious institutions that use government power in support of themselves and force their views on persons of other faiths, or of no faith, undermine all our civil rights. Moreover, state support of an established religion tends to make the clergy unresponsive to their own people, and leads to corruption within religion itself. Erecting the 'wall of separation between church and state,' therefore, is absolutely essential in a free society.” I think that religion is a private matter and should be kept separate from politics, but also see the desire for voters to know about the character and beliefs of person they are electing. That being said, I was raised a Christian and attend a very small United Methodist country church where my mother played the organ and I was the alter boy in my youth.
