"Klobuchar would require taxpayers earning more than $1 million to pay at least a 30 percent minimum tax rate, create a tax credit of up to $6,000 for individuals caring for an aging relative or a relative with a disability, and raise capital gains and dividends tax rates on taxpayers in the two highest income tax brackets."

Klobuchar says "with the number of Americans over the age 65 set to double over the next 30 years, we must preserve and enhance the health care and retirement programs our seniors depend on while also helping families prepare for the demands of an aging population."

Klobuchar says "There’s no question about it — the federal minimum wage must be increased to $15 an hour."

Klobuchar says the "Equality Act is an important step in stopping discrimination against LGBT Americans."

Klobuchar says "she would invest in diplomacy and rebuild the State Department and modernize our military to stay one step ahead of China and Russia, including with serious investments in cybersecurity."

Klobuchar says "she would push for grants toward homeland security to go after violent extremism and support strong law enforcement to prevent children from being influences by extremism organizations."

Klobuchar says "the Administration’s policy at the border is putting lives in danger. It’s past time for comprehensive immigration reform."

"Most undocumented immigrants would get a legal status and path to citizenship under plans Klobuchar has supported, including the 2013 immigration bill passed by the Senate. She has also said she would increase legal immigration, with a focus on increasing the number of temporary work visas available. Klobuchar would reform U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, but would not abolish the agency."

Klobuchar says she wants to propose a “historic investment” in U.S. public schools to boost teacher pay and help kids in underperforming schools. She supports universal pre-K that is free for low-income families. She said she wants to make community college and technical schools tuition-free and to let students refinance loans at lower rates.

"...Klobuchar was asked several charter school related questions, including whether she would support the NAACP moratorium on charters or 'put a halt to the privatization of public education.' In response she stopped short of saying that she would support the moratorium or halt privatization, but she did state several times that 'public schools are the mainstay of our education system' and that her record shows that she has not supported charter schools. She said that to be considered public schools charters must have 'high accountability standards' and that charter teachers must have the right to organize.

Klobuchar says "right now in most states LGBTQ Americans can be fired or evicted just for who they are. The Equality Act is a vital step to correct these wrongs and Senate Republicans should bring it to a vote."

Klobuchar wants to set up a new system for clemency as soon as possible, aiming to release thousands of people with overly long prison sentences who’ve shown signs of rehabilitation. "The next president owes it to the people of this country to leave no one behind. Reforming the presidential pardon system through the creation of a clemency advisory board and the addition of a dedicated, criminal justice reform adviser to the White House would move us one step closer to an America that's as good as its promise."

Klobuchar says she wants to "prevent federal funding from being used to arm teachers."

Klobuchar supports a "package of gun violence policies including instituting universal background checks by closing the gun show loophole and banning bump stocks, high capacity ammunition feeding devices and assault weapons. She is also the author of a proposal that would close what is commonly referred to as the ‘boyfriend loophole’ by preventing people who have abused dating partners from buying or owning firearms."

Not entirely clear. Klobuchar supports investing in "those communities that have been so hurt by racism."

Klobuchar would "prioritize combating domestic terrorism and empower law enforcement to investigate and prosecute perpetrators of hate-motivated violence, prevent people convicted of violent misdemeanor hate crimes from purchasing or possessing firearms."

Klobuchar strongly supports the Paris Climate Agreement and has pushed the Administration to rejoin the Agreement.

Klobuchar says she "open to eliminating the electoral college."

Klobuchar says "there are barriers to voting, such as voter ID laws, and is exploring explored ideas to improve voter access." Klobuchar urged "the defeat and repeal of unduly restrictive voter ID laws, and highlighted the need for additional polling places, poll workers and fully functioning voting machines as actions to take to improve voter participation."
