QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

As a mother of 3 children, I immediately changed my diet and eating habits when I became pregnant because I felt that I was creating a new life. I believe that a child exists at conception. Abortions only end the life of that precious baby.

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Agree

This is hard to answer - I do not think chemical abortions should be allowed. However if they are being performed there should be safeguards and monitoring. Gathering data could help provide accurate information on the positive and negative affects for shaping future policies.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

It is very concerning that government grants, which is taxpayers moneys, is being used to promote issues that go against one's moral values. In addition government grants come with strings attached and in Washington State those strings include only teaching Comprehensive Sex Education. Our laws do not advocate for true abstinence.

I support 'aid in dying' laws which legalize assisted suicide and euthanasia.

Strongly Disagree

I do not support assisted suicide laws and have been part of the Washington State's effort to lobby against these bills.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

Under what circumstances can government close churches?

Governments should never be closing churches.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

Part of a free enterprise system includes freedom to provide products and services that the business wants. In Washington State there have been frequent attempts, unfortunately most of them succeeded, to force all health care provides to provide medical services such as abortion. Businesses should have the right to bake cakes or create flower arrangements to the customers of their choice and not be punished by our government.

NATIONAL SECURITY

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Agree

The CCP has been quietly acquiring our land and monitoring our citizens through technical means. They seem to have an agenda to be the new superpower of the world.

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

I believe we should maintain a strong supporting relationship with Israel. There are blessings upon that nation and to those who support them.

HEALTHCARE

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

I would be most in agreement with C. I am against universal healthcare and universal insurance policies. Currently Medicaid and Medicare is serving millions of citizens and without it many folks would not have any resources. Government policies has raised the costs of insurance and medical costs so any changes to cut back has to be a systemic reduction on the reliance of government benefits.

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

There should always be an exemption to vaccinations. This is important because formulas in the vaccinations are changing. What could have been acceptable to your body in the past may not be the same vaccine today even if it has the same name.

ECONOMY

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Strongly Agree

A sound economy works well when there is free enterprise and ownership of property.

What is your position on the minimum wage?

Minimum wage laws have been harmful to businesses because the "cost" of workers is set by a government. This has also been detrimental to youth and entry level workers that used to be given temporary work to start learning new skills.

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

I believe in a "bottom line" that is based on finances and actual revenue dollars and expenditures. Making investment decisions on ESG ratings and not solid dollars and cents can lead to a downfall off a portfolio.

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

There should be attention given to all borders North and South.

EDUCATION

The state should fund education by allowing dollars to follow the child through programs which protect parents' freedom to choose their child's school – public, private, or homeschool.

Disagree

I am not for the expansion of government funding of any private schooling or home schools. I have seen the "strings attached" to government funding. Private schools taking government grants maintained masking and vaccination polices. Day cares, including religious day cares, that receive government funds in any form must follow the regulations of the State which includes DEI training. Government funded home schooling still had common core strings attached. This is a backdoor to control.

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Disagree

It is good to give back to the community, but only after fulfilling the needs of the operations of law enforcement staff and supplies.

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

I believe in the Second Amendment and feel that laws to control gun ownership have gone too far.

Should teachers be allowed to carry guns at school?

No

Although I put down no, which seems contrary to my support of the second amendment laws, I do feel that there should be a pathway for teachers to have firearms in a school setting. This should include staff that has been trained and strong security measures. My caution for stating "no" is because students are more unruly than in the past and this could create more problems if many staff members were carrying weapons.

ABOUT YOU

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

"The purpose of government is to protect and uphold ...natural rights, rather than dictate them or infringe upon them." Cleon Skousen

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

I consider myself to be fiscally conservative and I adhere to conservative biblical values.

VALUES

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Schools should be protecting children, but in Washington, the "anti-bullying" and sexual health education policies have been harmful to our children.

Parents should have the right to make decisions for their minor children.

Strongly Agree

I am opposed to the mature minor doctrine which is being used to keep parents from their child's (13 yrs and older) medical care.

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

I strongly disagree with the laws that make Washington a "safe sanctuary" state for children desiring these services, especially without their parent's consent or knowledge.

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

I agree with this and was part of the effort to overturn the gay marriage law passed in 2012.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am a Christian and have a biblical worldview. I try to follow the "What would Jesus do?" phrase when making decisions. GOD has blessed me with a miracle win in 2012 by being the first person to ever win a statewide write-in campaign. At that time he gave me lyrics to a song that I will always remember. "I am going to run this race to hear you (GOD) say Well Done" by Moriah Peters.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Disagree

There should be a way to verify that the voter is the person filling out the ballot. Photo identification is a great way to accomplish this. Most mail in voting systems rely on one's signature for verification. Voter registration is another important process that should require photo identification and other confirmation of citizenship and address.

States should join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact which makes the Electoral College irrelevant.

Strongly Disagree

I am against any attempts to remove the Electoral College system. I supported our 2022 initiative effort to allow for electors to be picked by Congressional Districts and not the "winner takes all" system that Washington state has.

EQUALITY

Is racism a threat to domestic security in the United States? Why or why not?

Racism has been used to create policies that only look at people as members of a group and not as an individual. Some of the current policies use racism as a means to shut down anyone that goes against the DEI agenda and that is a threat to many folks with a biblical worldview.

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

This agenda is creating a new definition of what is "race". In some government documents, race is not a skin color or ethnicity but it is identifying people as "historically oppressed" or the "oppressor." It is especially concerning when this agenda is reshaping the minds of school children and challenging their identity.

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

Males and females that have altered their bodies cannot change their "dna" structure. I agree with the statement.

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Which comes closest to your view? (Select all that apply) A) Stricter environmental laws and regulations cost too many jobs and hurt the economy. B) Stricter environmental laws and regulations are worth the cost. C) Stricter environmental laws undermine U.S. energy independence and deter development of reliable electricity sources. D) Climate change is real and requires urgent policy action.

Statement A and C. Policies that support climate change are being used to support an energy agenda that is not realistic. The electrical grid cannot support the system they want and mass transit systems are not financially sound. The recent Climate Change Act and natural gas ban are raising costs to the citizens without solutions to reduce the emissions they claim to want to achieve. I support the initiatives to overturn these laws.

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

The best system of supplying energy should be based upon the consumers choice. It should not be 100% dependent on the electrical system. Businesses and households need to have a "back-up" resource that is affordable.
