OTHER INFORMATION

One of 149 House Republicans who voted for H.R. 3746, the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023, which suspended the nation's debt limit through January 1, 2025. A vote for H.R. 3746 allows the government to spend without limitation for 19 months at an expected cost of $4 trillion.

This candidate voted against HR 8404.  This vote indicates the candidate holds a position that supports traditional marriage.

Voted no on H.R.4350, a bill which would have expanded Selective Service registration to include women.

RIGHT TO LIFE

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds from federal, state, or local governments (including Title X grants).

Strongly Agree

Chemical abortion drugs should meet essential safety standards (such as in-person consultation with a medical doctor) and require reporting to gather evidence on reactions and outcomes.

Choose not to answer

See answer to "Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?"

iVoterGuide Notes:

Candidate notified iVoterguide.com that his answer should have been, " Chemical abortion drugs should not be legal."

Under what circumstances should an elective abortion be allowed?

None.

Does the federal government have a role to play in limiting abortion, and if so what federal steps and/or federal legislation would you support?

I have cosponsored and voted in support of several key pro-life bills in Congress, including the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, the Heartbeat Protection Act, and the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.

RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

What does "separation of church and state" mean to you?

God’s role in the life of our nation & our Christian values has been central to our cultural fabric. I agree with John Adams who said, “the Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people…it’s wholly inadequate for the government of any other.” That said, the "separation of church and state" concept is not prescribed anywhere in the constitution. The First Amendment is a limit on the government, not the church, with regard to the establishment or free exercise of religion.

Individuals and businesses should be required to provide services even if it would violate their moral and/or religious beliefs.

Strongly Disagree

NATIONAL SECURITY

With regard to America's foreign policy, which view most closely resembles yours: A) The United States should intervene whenever freedom is threatened. B) The United States should selectively help countries trying to grow democracy and fight tyranny. C) The United States has become too involved in others' policies and should remain focused on issues regarding our own sovereignty unless in imminent danger. D) The United States should stay out of foreign conflicts completely.

C

The Chinese Communist Party poses serious military, cyber security, intellectual property, and global economic threats to the United States.

Strongly Agree

Is the United States' relationship with Israel important, and if so why?

Our relationship with Israel is extremely important. They are one of our strongest allies and, effectively, the only democracy in the Middle East. We must be unwavering and unequivocal in our support for Israel. America has always stood in strong support of Israel, not just because of the national security importance for the United States, but because of our shared Judeo-Christian values, longstanding spiritual heritage, and mutual commitment to freedom and democracy.

What are the causes of decline in U.S. military recruitment and retention?

Vaccine mandates on our troops, a weak Commander in Chief, & woke ideology infiltrating the Pentagon. I was proud to support defense legislation to refocus the military away from woke indoctrination to war fighting by reversing Biden’s extreme climate policies at the Pentagon. I voted to ban the teaching of the divisive CRT, extreme transgenderism, & Biden's discriminatory DEI program.

HEALTHCARE

Under what circumstances (if any) should a government, school, or employer be allowed to require vaccinations?

I see no justification for any federal vaccine mandates like we saw during Covid. I was opposed to COVID mandates, supported legislation to repeal mandates on our troops, & cosponsored the Stop Vaccine Mandates Act & the Freedom from Mandates Act.

What most closely matches your view on healthcare: A) Healthcare for all should be guaranteed and funded by the government with no private healthcare option. (includes "universal healthcare," "medicare for all," etc.) B) Healthcare insurance funded by the government should be available for all who want it, along with private healthcare options. C) Medicaid and Medicare should remain available, but no other taxpayer-funded programs are necessary. D) Taxpayer funded health care should be abolished in all forms, and Medicaid and Medicare should be defunded.

C

ECONOMY

What actions would you take that would allow Americans to retain more of their income and wealth?

The government should only collect the taxes necessary to carry out its basic constitutional duties. Our problem isn’t too little tax revenue, it’s too much unnecessary government.

Student loan forgiveness unfairly shifts the financial burden to those not responsible for student debt.

Strongly Agree

Should environmental and social issues, like ESG (environmental, social, and governance) ratings, be used as criteria in deciding where to invest public monies?

No

IMMIGRATION

The U.S. should do more to physically secure the southern border.

Strongly Agree

Who should be allowed to immigrate to the U.S. and under what circumstances?

Those who follow our immigration laws, respect our sovereignty, subscribe to our ideals and values, embrace our culture and way of life, pledge sole allegiance to our country, and promote and defend all of the above.

EDUCATION

I support school choice, including voucher programs, tax credits, charter schools, private schools, and home schools.

Strongly Agree

I support eliminating the U.S. Department of Education and giving control back to states and communities.

Strongly Agree

CRIMINAL JUSTICE & PUBLIC SAFETY

I support redirecting funds from police departments to community programs.

Strongly Disagree

2ND AMENDMENT

What restrictions on gun ownership are needed to protect public safety?

Our Constitution is clear: ‘the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.’ Our Founders recognized the imperative of this natural human right to defend oneself and their family against criminals, the crazed, and the tyranny of coercive governments. I believe in this matter there should be very few restrictions, if any, and any restrictions should be meted out by the states with due process, not with federal preemptive measures.

JUDICIAL PHILOSOPHY

The Supreme Court should be reformed to include more seats.

Strongly Disagree

ABOUT YOU

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and religious liberty, which of the following best describes you overall?

Very Conservative

What do you think is the general purpose of government?

Biblically, governments were instituted among men to restrain evil. Constitutionally, our federal government was created primarily to “provide for the common defense” and “secure the blessings of liberty.” It’s my strong opinion that the federal government should be limited in scope and scale to the narrow duties outlined in the Constitution. We must rightsize the federal government, renew our commitment to federalism, and return power back to the sovereign states and We the People!

Have you ever been penalized for sexual misconduct in either civil or criminal court? If so, please explain.

No.

Have you ever been convicted of a felony? If so, please explain.

No.

VALUES

Marriage is a God-ordained, sacred and legal union of one man and one woman. No government has the authority to alter this definition.

Strongly Agree

Children are the most vulnerable members of society and must be protected from abuse, including gender ideology, grooming, and bodily mutilation.

Strongly Agree

Taxpayer funds should be used to provide gender transition services.

Strongly Disagree

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

1st Corinthians (Chapter 8:5-6) and 1st Timothy (2:5-6) are a good summary of my spiritual beliefs. I believe there is only one true God and one way to experience Him - through His son, Jesus. I submit not only to his teachings from the Bible, but to His Lordship as the creator of Heaven and Earth and my personal Lord and Savior. I believe that God is sovereign in the affairs of man. I believe His hand was upon our great nation from its inception. I believe without His favor, we will cease to enjoy the security and prosperity we’ve experienced to date. I believe the Christian Church is the single most important element in our nation’s history, achievements over the years, and future leadership and success.

ELECTIONS AND VOTING

People should be able to vote without photo identification.

Strongly Disagree

The Electoral College should be abolished.

Strongly Disagree

EQUALITY

I agree with Critical Race Theory (CRT) which asserts that the institutions in the United States are fundamentally racist.

Strongly Disagree

Biological males should not be allowed to participate in women's sports or occupy biological women's spaces whether it be bathrooms, locker rooms, sorority houses, women's shelters, or prison.

Strongly Agree

ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT

Man-made climate change is a global threat and requires urgent political action.

Strongly Disagree

What do you believe is the most reliable energy source that will supply the growing demand for electricity?

Natural gas.
