15. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?

America's Founders designed a republic in which the rights of the minority is protected from the will of the majority. Our founding fathers created a system to protect our freedom from the government. Legislation is very difficult to pass for a reason. The founding fathers did not want the governement to be able to affect every facet of daily American lives; like it does now. Our over instrusive government is destroying the diversity that made our nation great.

16. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.

Personal income tax needs to be abolished. If people don't have to give the federal government 25% of their hard earned wages then they can provide for themselves. They won't need the government to give them money and then tell them how to spend it. Moreover, this will provide an infusion of real money into the US economy and create real growth. Corporate income tax needs to be abolished as well. Having the world's highest corporate income tax is the number one reason for company's leaving the United States. The high tax rate is built into the cost of the products. This drives up the cost of US made goods. Companies can't compete with products made overseas. We will re-shore jobs by getting rid of the corporate tax. Jobs are want Americans need and want. They don't want welfare. They want to provide for themselves and their families. We need jobs. Repeal ACA. It is an abomination. More people are now without healthcare and the insurance companies made a killing

17. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?

When life begins and ends is a decision of faith. Different faiths treat this differently. The seperation of Church and State goes both ways. Federal government needs to be hands off in matters of faith. The federal government can neither prevent a woman from having an abortion, and they cannot use taxpayer money to support a faith based decision to have an abortion. As a Catholic I pray for an end to abortion. However, while we are an nation of many faiths; our government is secular and has no business getting into deciding when life begins or ends. There are faiths that accept abortion as well as same sex marriage. The federal government needs to stand aside on daily family matters.
