QUESTIONNAIRE

RIGHT TO LIFE

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Gardner believes in the protection of life "at all stages". “I'm pro-life, but that's up to the states.” Since he was first elected to Congress as a Representative in 2010, Gardner has voted to defund Planned Parenthood a total of nine times. Gardner voted in favor of the “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act” that would have banned abortions after 20 weeks and threatened doctors who perform those abortions with up to five years in jail.

Abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, should not receive taxpayer funds or grants from federal, state, or local governments.

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Gardner has voted ten times to defund Planned Parenthood since he has held Federal office.

I support the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act, which requires health care providers to provide life-saving treatment for infants who survive an attempted abortion.

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Gardner sponsors the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

Gardner believes in the protection of life "at all stages". In 2014 Garder sponsored a bill to make all abortions illegal, even in cases of rape and incest. He stated that he had changed his position and no longer supported a person-hood amendment like the one mentioned. Gardner added, “I'm pro-life, but that's up to the states.”

ECONOMY

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has a livable income.

Did not answer

Free enterprise and the right to private property are essential elements of a productive economic system.

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

"I am proud to have helped deliver the first major overhaul of our tax code in over 30 years. It dramatically lowered rates, gave needed relief to our small businesses...and created strong incentives for businesses to invest here at home." The U.S. Chamber of Commerce honored Senator Cory Gardner with its annual Spirit of Enterprise Award. "We commend Senator Gardner for his commitment to promoting and protecting American free enterprise and economic prosperity.”

I promise to protect the freedom of Christians to share the Gospel and to practice Biblical principles.

Did not answer

HEALTHCARE

It is the government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health insurance.

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

“Socialized medicine means less choice, higher taxes and longer wait times and more government control,” Gardner said during the Western Conservative Summit in downtown Denver. “It means losing the health care that you have at your job and having it replaced with government-run healthcare. It’s so free that it’s unavailable. … We know that Democrats’ Medicare for All will actually result in Medicare for none.”

I support the elimination of private healthcare insurance.

Did not answer

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

Did not answer

iVoterGuide Notes:

"Sky-high costs are hurting families and Congress has a responsibility to intervene. Allowing the purchase of insurance across state lines, encouraging competition in the market, and providing consumers with price transparency are all achievable policies, which have the capability to lower the cost of health care."
