Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

If the life of the mother is threatened.

What should the United States do to help eradicate the threat of radical Islamic terrorism?

The United States with assistance from its allies should follow the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission and secure the border. Border security and visa overstays are a threat to our nation and put the American people at risk of attack from radical extremists who attempt to infiltrate the United States. We must also continue to reinvest in the strength and readiness of our military.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Power in the hands of the few corrupts. The limited and separation of powers provides a check and balance to the corrupting influence of power.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am Roman Catholic and conservative.

When you consider your views on a wide range of issues from economic and social matters to foreign policy and immigration, which of the following best describes you overall?

Conservative

Please provide publicly available information validating your answer to the previous question.

Became the first mayor in the country to pass a local ordinance against illegal immigration. Saved taxpayers $4.4 billion as Chairman of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management Endorsed by the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation Endorsed by the National Right to Life Committee Endorsed by the National Federation for Independent Business Five Time “Hero of Main Street” Recipient from National Retail Federation “A” Rating from the National Rifle Association

How would you promote healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable and accessible for all?

ObamaCare continues to do great damage to American families. The average premium in Pennsylvania has increased 120 percent while deductibles have also skyrocketed. Now families have an insurance card but cannot pay for health care. That’s why I support replacing ObamaCare with patient and consumer centered solutions which remove government controls that increase the price of health care. I support measures like health savings accounts, allowing for consumers to shop for insurance across state lines, and allowing small businesses to pool together in association health plans to lower costs. I continue to support protections for those with pre-existing conditions. No one should be denied health insurance because of a pre-existing condition.

What role should government play in boosting the economy?

The government should invest in transportation and infrastructure to provide the foundation for a robust economy. The upkeep of roads, bridges, airports, and other infrastructure is critical to economic growth. Infrastructure investment also provides good paying jobs for workers and families which generates consumer spending in local communities. As a former road construction worker and small business owner, I understand the wide-ranging benefits of this investment.

What changes should be made to the tax code?

It’s important to keep the robust economic growth going and allow for families to keep more of their take home pay. That’s why I support Tax Cuts 2.0 and making the individual rate cuts permanent.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?

The best way to bring down unemployment is to grow the economy. To grow the economy, the private sector needs policies from Washington that incentivize growth and investment in workers and businesses, not excessive regulations from bureaucrats and politicians that make growth impossible. That’s why I support President Trump’s policies to keep taxes low and eliminate 22 regulations for every one regulation written. This has generated the widespread economic boom we are experiencing and I will continue to support this agenda while in the Senate.

How would you guarantee Social Security benefits for future generations?

Social Security is a critical resource for senior citizens who have paid into the Social Security trust fund all of their lives. As Baby Boomers retire, America needs policies that increase the money in the trust fund provided by pay-roll taxes. That’s why I support policies of robust economic growth to increase the pool of workers. Unfortunately, the Obama Administration saw a record low workforce participation. With less workers with good paying jobs, the pool of pay-roll tax decreased. But under the Trump Administration and Republican leadership, the economy is soaring with growth reaching heights liberal elites said we would never see.

What education or experience qualifies you to hold the office for which you seek election?

With $29.95 and a dream, my wife, Mary Grace, and I started a small line painting business. We turned it into the largest of its kind in Pennsylvania and the sixth largest of its kind in the country. When the local politicians were taking Hazleton down the wrong path with constant fighting and misguided policies, I ran for City Council and then Mayor. In my first two years as Mayor, I turned a $1.2 million deficit into a $500,000 surplus. I became the first mayor in America to stand up against illegal immigration when I witnessed how it was affecting our local community. As a member of Congress, I saved taxpayers nearly $5 billion as chairman of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management by eliminating waste and reducing the size of federal real estate. My first bill I introduced was to defund sanctuary cities and I continue to stand up for the American people and legal immigration against illegal immigrants.
