America's Founders understood the sin nature of man and that power vested with a single person or body could lead to corruption and/or despotism. To protect against the rise of a despotic government, the Founders carefully defined and separated powers into three separate, but equal, branches of government.

I am a Christian, constitutional conservative. I believe that our freedom comes from a sovereign God and our constitutional Republic was founded based on Judeo-Christian principles. As a public servant, I am sworn to uphold the US and Washington State Constitutions, which means protecting life, liberty and property. As a State Legislator, I have worked to lower the tax burden on the people of Washington, reduce the size and scope of government and to increase individual freedom.

As a State Legislator, I have sponsored bills and budget amendments to eliminate publicly funded abortions (HB 1002 in 2017-2018). I have also sponsored legislation to ensure private entities can maintain gender segregated bathrooms/locker rooms (HB 1101 in 2017-2018). I introduced HB 1025 (2017-2018) to require the state to implement prioritized budgeting and limit the ability to pass new tax legislation. Finally, I introduced HB 2392 (2017-2018) to ensure the state operating budget remained balanced following any vetoes by the governor.

What is the best way to bring down unemployment?
The best way to reduce unemployment is to repeal or replace laws that make economic development difficult within our communities. Washington State has numerous laws in place which make development activities burdensome and expensive. Reducing the regulatory burden on businesses and property owners will increase development activities which promote job growth.

The easiest way to encourage adequate, affordable, and accessible healthcare coverage for the people of Washington is to reduce government's involvement in it and eliminate restrictions to providing coverage within the state. There are many examples of non-traditional healthcare coverage that work yet have little to no government involvement. Christian Healthcare Ministries and Samaritan Ministries are just two examples of alternative healthcare coverage that is adequate, affordable, and accessible.
