Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.
Strongly Agree
I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.
Strongly Agree
The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.
Strongly Disagree
The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.
Strongly Agree
I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.
Strongly Agree
The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.
Strongly Disagree
I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.
Strongly Agree
Current regulations on domestic oil exploration and drilling are more restrictive than are necessary.
Strongly Agree
It is the government’s responsibility to be sure everyone has health care and a livable income.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I am opposed to abortion in all circumstances, except when it is the only procedure capable of preserving the life of the mother.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
As the old saying goes: "Absolute power corrupts absolutely." The Founders understood that a concentration of power could (and likely would) lead to the oppression of those in the minority. And so they instituted the separation of powers and created a number of checks and balances in the Constitution to ensure that our individual liberties (like religious expression) were not infringed upon by the federal government.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I was born and raised Roman Catholic, and I attend mass every week. And I try to follow Christ's teachings in all that I do, both in my personal and professional life.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Very Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I have been ranked by National Journal as the most conservative member of the House of Representatives. On fiscal issues, I regularly receive one of the highest rankings by the taxpayer watchdog group, Citizens Against Government Waste. On social issues, I authored the federal partial-birth abortion ban, and I'm regularly endorsed by pro-life organizations. And with respect to public safety, I am regularly endorsed by the Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police.

Additional comment from candidate:
I selected "No Answer" for number 13, because our founders did not form a "pure democracy" in which all citizens vote on every matter. Rather, they established a representative democracy, as they felt that was the best system of government to protect the rights of the minority, which could be infringed by the majority in a pure democracy.
