OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES

Congress should repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

Disagree

Human life begins at conception and deserves legal protection at every stage until natural death.

Disagree

I am in favor of construction of a wall and other necessary infrastructure on our border that gives complete control over entering and exiting the United States.

Disagree

The U.S. military should wait for militant Islamic groups to directly threaten our national security on our shores, rather than eradicate them now wherever they may be worldwide.

Disagree

The United States must maintain a nuclear arsenal that is safe, reliable, modern and numerically superior to those of potential adversaries.

Neutral

I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Strongly Disagree

The federal government should establish Common Core as a nationwide academic standard for high school graduation.

Neutral

I oppose the resettlement of Syrian refugees into the U.S. without proper vetting.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?

Presently, my County is struggling under an an overwhelming caseload of children in need of foster care and foster families. We don't have enough volunteers to hold the babies that are detoxing from opioids. I wish that all of the people that spend so much time and effort trying to ban abortion would volunteer their time and love for the children that are already here that desperately need it. If we truly want to eliminate abortion, we should be ensuring access to affordable birth control services to those that need it, not fighting to overturn the ACA. That decision should be made between a woman, her Doctor and her God.

What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?

Our Founders were highly educated in philosophy, history and diplomacy. They were fleeing a monarchy and were seeking a freedom to live, work and worship. Separation of powers was a necessary step to ensure that we did not build ourselves into another monarchy. I believe they did a pretty find job of it. Now we just have to get money out of politics and we'll be able to get back on track, because we are teetering toward Oligarchy.

Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.

I am Jewish. I live very far from a Temple so I am not able to worship as often as I would like. My closest friend is a Methodist Pastor and we often discuss the intersections of our faiths. I believe that it is my duty to God and to my children to try to leave this world better off than I found it, in whatever small way that I can.

Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?

Somewhat Liberal

Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.

I am quite conservative on some issues and I am quite liberal on others. I believe in my 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, but I also believe that you should lose that privilege to own if you threaten to hurt someone else. I believe in a womens' right to control her body. I believe that money in politics is destroying our Democracy. I believe in public education. I believe in Unions' right to organize.
