I support legislation such as the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) that would prohibit discrimination against individuals, organizations and small businesses because of their belief that marriage is only a union of one man and one woman.

Under what circumstances should abortion be allowed?
I cannot imagine how difficult it would be in a situation where the life of the mother was at stake. I would not judge a women in that difficult situation. It would be her decision.
What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers in the Constitution?
They knew the sinful nature of man would bring about the possibility of rebellion and a desire to obtain too much personal power as seen with despots throughout history.
Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I accepted Christ when I was 8 years old. My relationship with Christ continues to grow as I seek Him daily in prayer and meditating on His word. I have found that all my successes in life have come as a result of serving others and honoring God. I have experienced God's favor in all the areas of my life including my marriage, my business, and my time of service in politics. I am compelled to maximize the gifts God has given me to serve Him and others. Honesty and integrity contribute to the good name I aim for. I strive to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God per Micah 6:8.
Considering all issues (social, economic, national security, etc.), which of these best describes you?
Very Conservative
Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
Since coming to the Senate I have been challenged with arguing against civil unions, same sex marriage, and the largest tax increase in the state's history. I have taken bold stands in the State Senate in committees and on the floor to defend life and marriage between a man and a women. I have sponsored bills to protect adoption and foster care organization's right to not place children with unmarried or married same sex couples. I am the chief sponsor of SB 2164 Religious Freedom Defense Act. I have voted against spending measures even though they had personal meaning to me, like the Heroin Abuse Funding. I have been vocal about the fiscally immoral policies of the majority party. I created the only published budget in decades as a solution to the state's fiscal irresponsibility. www.IllinoisRealityCheck.com

Additional comment from candidate:
I am the true conservative in this race. My opponent has become part of the problem in Washington. He has voted twice now to fund Planned Parenthood and broke his promise to abide by term limits. 20 years is enough! Vote McCarter!
