14. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
A realization that the people in power will do anything to keep that power is the reason for separation of powers. However, in the political climate that exists, there is only room for the two-party system to flourish because of a tacit agreement that the Democrats and Republicans need to maintain power to keep the power of the government out of the hands of the people and in the control of the corporate controlled two-party power dynamic.
15. Briefly list three (3) political or legislative issues of most concern to you, and explain why each is important to you.
Veterans Issues- As a former member of the Armed Forces I feel discriminated against by the government as they do not recognize myself or others who have served as veterans. This is a long-time issue with the Democrats and later the Republicans using the budget of the government to deny services and assistance to the veterans of our country. While recent legislation passed is working to reform the care that some veterans receive at the VA, that is only a small portion of the issues that veterans are dealing with when it comes to the services provided by the VA. Employment- Too many people in America are under-employed or unemployed. We need to develop more jobs to rebuild theinfrastructure of the United States to ensure domestic tranquility and the ability for the economy to recover from the savage exploitation that led to the Stock Market crash of 2008. Environment- If we cannot breathe or drink the water or eat the food grown, we cannot expect to have ANY quality of life.
16. Should abortion be allowed under extenuating circumstances? If so, what circumstances?
Rape, incest, in the case of the life of the mother being threatened.
17. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God, Voters, Constitution, Congress, Supreme Court
