16. What in the nature of mankind caused America’s Founders to carefully define, separate, and limit powers within the Constitution?
The desire to control other people coupled with the unlimited desire for power among individuals and groups, especially political parties, which George Washington warned us against in his farewell address. Question 4 mentioned Shariah Law as a danger to our constitution and our way of life. I would suggest that self-serving, career politicians pose a similar threat.
17. The founders established pure democracy in the Constitution because they believed that it is the best form of government to ensure the safety and equitable treatment of all citizens.
Strongly Disagree
18. Based on the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, please arrange the following entities, starting with the highest source of authority, and continue the list in descending order of authority, skipping any that do not apply: Academia, Congress, Constitution, God, Industry, Media, Professional Sports, Supreme Court, Voters.
God Voters Constitution Supreme Court Congress Academia Industry etc..
19. Briefly describe your spiritual beliefs and values.
I am a Christian and a Catholic. I believe God created the universe and everything within it. I believe in the non-coercion principle, especially when it comes to government, taxes and laws. And as I stated in my answer to question 18, we are born with freedom and rights given to us directly from God. Then, as free people, we loan certain powers to the government. Because the politicians increasingly must prove themselves to be relevant, they must expand their circle of influence and create more laws, which reduces our freedoms and increasingly inserts regulation and state agencies between free people, their God and their destiny.
