Please defend your answer to the previous question by referencing your publicly available track record.
I don't really have a publicly available track record. I am a Democrat because I believe that the Free Enterprise system needs the checks and balances of government to grow an economy and to build a society in a way that benefits society as a whole. Only government can hold a factory responsible for the sickness caused by its water pollution. Only government is willing to invest the resources necessary to visit the moon or to adequately fund basic scientific research. Only government would invest in the nation's highway system.

Additional comment from candidate:
I believe that government today is not working for the people. I believe that if we fix two things, it will fundamentally change the people who run and win legislative elections: 1. Redistricting reform. While Ohio has instituted this reform, it is only for the State House and Senate, but not for Congressional seats...and it does not take effect until 2022. Today, districts are drawn in such a way that one Party or the other is highly likely to win in the General Election. This puts all the voting power in the hands of the Primary voter, who tends to be more ideologically extreme...and who is less likely to vote for someone willing to compromise with the other side. This has directly led to the divisiveness in our politics. 2. Campaign Finance Reform. Too much political power is in the hands of wealthy individuals and corporations. Political spending should not be consider equivalent to "speech". Political contributions lead to laws/policies that keep wealth and power concentra
